"I will have to improvise a repair." Which means extending the amount of time she's here, which means she's in bigger trouble than she thought. How is she going to get out of here? What is she going to have to do to survive here? Her mind is reeling in several different directions.

Hearing of Kevin Bacon's death genuinely makes her sad. Her brow furrows and she wears this sadness on her features. There's also a modicum of respect when she speaks of him. "Did he die a warrior's death?" Even if Spooner doesn't know Kevin Bacon personally, certainly he knows of this great hero's death.

And then she has a novel idea. "Are there statues of him?" All great heroes have statues, don't they? "I'd like to see one." What does Kevin Bacon look like, she wonders. Yes, all of this is, to her, absolutely serious.
