The sound of his moan ripples through Lydia like pleasant shock waves and she smiles again when she feels the kiss to the tip of her nose. There's something weirdly exciting about eliciting those sorts of sounds from him, even if — as in this case — they're fairly innocent in nature. It makes her feel desired and there's a flickering feeling of power that she has neither earned nor deserved, but likes to pretend she has for a few seconds just then.

"I guess Friend Computer can do a thing or two right once in a while after all," she purrs, fingernails still raking lightly over his scalp in an attempt to get him to make that sound again, "since we were assigned the same room and all."

It's not something she'd ever have thought she'd admit or would ever want to acknowledge in so many words that she feels, but she's kind of grateful to the Computer for assigning Matt to the room she shared with Dick. She's not sure they would be this close if it hadn't.

Lydia's cheeks warm pleasantly with his words and she presses a chaste kiss to his lips before returning her forehead to his. "Nobody's ever said anything like that to me before," she admits, and the sad thing is that it's true. Jackson said he loved her, but he never said the words. Aiden was just for fun. Her father walked away and her mother's too stressed out. No one has ever told Lydia she's the most anything in their life except "smart." Matt's words are new and exciting to mull over and she gives herself a second to bask in the afterglow of the sentiment.
