He chuckled at that. "it's okay. Most of the things I make go into the toaster." He was not much of a cook. It had just never been worth the hassle to learn, not when he could exist on takeout and the food that his clients brought him.

That was a good thing because he brought home leftovers from time to time.

Yeah, he' was going to have to tell her how he did that sometime. He knew she shifted closer and he had to remind himself not to react.

It certainly couldn't hurt. Matt would have said he didn't believe in such a thing years ago, but time had taught him not to question such things anymore.

He nearly choked on his halva when she mentioned the devil of Hell's kitchen. He'd known she was working on a fire that had to do with the Triad, but he hadn't realized it was that fire. "I--I heard about that. I'm still trying to figure out why he did that."

His motives were good! Honestly! He was trying to clean up Hell's Kitchen and make it a safe place to live. It was probably a good thing that he couldn't actually see her wall that wasn't filled up with news clippings.
