He smirks a little at her response. "I feel like you'd figure something out. You seem clever like that," he replies. Sometimes he just likes to listen to Lucy talk; that accent isn't super thick to the point where he can't understand her without asking her to slow down, but it suits her. It's comforting and relaxing. Another reason why she's terrifying; her voice feels like home to him and that's...well. It's way too early for that. Way.
"Same old, same old. Went on my early morning run, then lounged around the hotel room for the rest of the morning, spent the larger part of the afternoon in the gym, and now I'm here." Derek's life isn't all that exciting these days, but if he's honest, he really sort of prefers it that way. That's the biggest reason why he left Beacon Hills. He needed a break from all the crazy. He's actually still enjoying his honeymoon phase with having no responsibilities. Derek knows himself well enough to know that eventually he'll get bored with it, but for now, he's not complaining.
Derek takes another drink and then sets the beer bottle down on the counter to give Lucy his undivided attention. "What about you, pretty girl? How was your day?"
