A smirk takes over his face for a second before Derek forces something more akin to a neutral expression and then he nods. "Of course they are," he agrees. Maybe for her. If he's paying more than $20 for a pair of shoes, he's a very pissed off werewolf. Women are weird about those sorts of things, though. Shoes, bags...he doesn't get it, but to each their own, he thinks.

He's the sort of person who tends to be in the zone when he's driving, and he puts his full focus on the road, but when she says she likes the car he smiles a little and gives her a brief look. She may or may not have had time to notice, in the few seconds he's looking at her before his eyes move back to the road in front of him, that the smile falls a little short of his eyes.
"It was my sister's," he says. "I always felt so cool when she would take me to school in this thing..."
