Maybe it would be better if Foggy were here when the police arrived, but Matt doesn't want to let Foggy out of his sight. Foggy has already paid far too high a price for knowing Matt.

It's something that Matt struggles with every day, particularly after he'd gotten to know Frank. It's, ultimately, the reason he and Electra broke up. There's not an evening that passes that he doesn't think about killing someone rather than letting the police take over. However, Matt is afraid of the way that taking a life would change him. He doesn't believe that anyone has the right to play God and taking lives turns him into the very person he's trying to keep off the streets.

He does sense that nod, the vibrations in the air, the soft sound that a person nodding creates. He shakes his head at Foggy's words, pausing to stand with his friend. "No way. I'm going to put you in a cab then keep the cab in sight until it gets to my building."

He cares too much to let his friend out of his 'sight'.
