Kara considers that for a moment. She's been thinking for weeks about wanting children, but actually taking the step to ask someone — Dean — to help her get there, that's new. She hasn't really considered where she wants to be or when or any of that stuff. She hasn't considered whether she wants to jump on the bandwagon and start trying now in case it takes a while, or whether she should just wait until things calm down a little — things never calm down, Kara, you know that, she reminds herself. She'll need a new place; she can't raise a child and house Dean when he's around in the apartment she has now, but buying a home hadn't ever really been on her radar, especially in National City. It'll be expensive. She'll almost definitely be paying that mortgage off until she's in her fifties. At least.
But she can't help noticing that Dean's brightened. He sounds surprisingly especially engaged in the conversation now that it's been established officially that they're going to try to do this. Kara tells herself that's a good sign. If she can Dean are good, then now all she has to worry about is...explaining it to Alex. And Eliza. ...and J'onn and Winn and Jimmy and oh God, Mon-El works at the DEO now and he's going to ask questions and he could absolutely shatter Dean if he got jealous and ragey that she's moved on — because Mon-El will be lacking the ability to see that the moving on is only to some degree and it isn't a romantic one.
Her own brightness starts to falter when she loses herself in that train of thought, but it's when he speaks up again that Kara pulls herself out of the downward spiral to focus on the definitely and the now. "I don't think it's ever a good time for me, so I'm going to have to just...not factor 'wait for a good time' into things. Supergirl never sleeps. ...I mean, I sleep, I don't mean to say that I don't ever sleep, I'm just saying...you know what I'm saying. Anyway..." she says, shrugging. "I'd rather just, um, I think...be at my place? If that's okay? That's not weirder than a hotel somewhere, is it?" she asks, looking thoughtfully confused.
Her smile starts to return though when she thinks about that particularly. Not the having sex with Dean part, because that's...okay, that's weird. That's going to be weird and they're both just going to have to accept that, do the thing, and then let the weirdness go. But the trying part. "Is my place okay, or...?" She can't remember if she's ever actually had Dean over to her place, come to think of it. Even if she had, it hadn't been overnight; that much is for sure. She'd been dating Mon-El for the larger part of the time she's known Dean, so that wouldn't have flown.
"We're going to do this, really?" she asks hopefully.
