Open Post 2016 2017 Edition

☻Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
☻Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
☻Have fun!

I. Roadtrip
1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.
II. Cuddles1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!
III. Hurt/Comfort1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
IV. Texts from Last Night1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen
V. Intimacy1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.
VI. SENTINEL GUIDEPrompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?
oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?
oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.
oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.
005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.
oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.
oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.
oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!
Other Options
Don't like any of the above? Here are some other options:1. Picture Prompt: go here or any of your other favorite picture sites. Leave me a few pictures and I'll set something up.
2. Pick a prompt from this prompt tumblr or try googling OTP prompts
3. Insomnia! One or both of you can't sleep. Be awake together.
4. Leave me a scenario, lyrics, a word or a quote

Lydia can hear the distraction in his voice and she isn't surprised when he comes back to her age. She leaves the talk about his firm on the backburner because she can tell that's not where his head is right now. For a moment, Lydia chews her bottom lip, because she honestly doesn't know the answer.
"I think so," she admits. "I was eighteen when I got here and it was nearly my birthday, but I don't know if time works the same here. If I was home, I would be," she says honestly. Her expression falls with defeat. "Does that change things...?" she asks quietly.
no subject
It's something they ought to talk about. He doesn't mind talking about Nelson and Murdock, but it's definitely more of a backburner conversation in comparison. Even without his senses, he's fairly certain he can feel her nerves.
He nods a little because she's being logical and honest about this. He hesitates a moment then shakes his head at her question. "I don't want it to," he answers her honestly. "I'm thirty, Lydia." The concern is clear on his face. "Does that change things for you?"
no subject
Lydia backs it up a little further, replaying his response in her head. Belatedly, she realizes that he didn't say that it doesn't change things, he just says that he doesn't want it to, and she isn't really sure if that's because he's worried about her reaction to his age or if there's more to it. Her lips press together for a moment in thought and she reaches down to remove his glasses, brushing his bangs away from his forehead as she puts his glasses into his free hand for him.
"I don't care how old you are," she admits softly. "I like you. A lot. And I like us. I don't want anything to change." Lydia wets her lips. "Can we just...stay?" The question almost comes out in a whisper, because she's scared. She's afraid of losing him over something that seems so trivial to her, even if she understands why it might not be trivial to him.
no subject
Most of it is that he's worried about her reaction to his age. He's also worried about everyone else's reaction to them, if that'll change her mind. He's accustomed to not being in anyone's favor, but he's not sure how Lydia feels about public opinion. He doesn't flinch when she removes his glasses and he closes his eyes when she brushes his hair away from his forehead. He tucks his glasses into a pocket once she gives them to him.
He's listening closely to her, paying attention to more than just her words. He reaches up to cup her cheek in his hand, his palm against her skin. He runs his thumb over her cheekbone then down to the corner of her lips. He nods a little at her words then responds in an equally quiet voice. "Yeah. We can stay as long as you want to."
They'll deal with public opinion and any and all responses to their age difference as they happen.
no subject
It's interesting to her that he can always seem to find her without some embarrassing faux pas like poking her in the eye or sticking a finger up her nose when he reaches for her face like that, but she finds a comfort in it, thinking that perhaps he just knows her face that well now. Maybe they've just become that close.
Lydia leans into his touch and nods against his hand. "Okay, good. I like this too much to let it go now," she whispers back before turning her face slightly in his palm to kiss the pad of his thumb as is passes to the corner of her lips.
no subject
Chalk it up to years of practice and senses that are honed to the highest of natural ability. He does know her face pretty well though, and he knows approximately where her head is, where she's looking based on the assumption that she's looking at him. Most people do look at the person they're speaking to unless they've a problem with eye contact, and Lydia doesn't seem to. He even looks in the direction of the person he's speaking too.
"So do I," he says, his voice a little rough at the kiss against his skin. After a moment, he pushes himself up into a sitting position to kiss her properly.
no subject
With his kiss, all thoughts of whether their age gap matters or doesn't seem to melt away, because she's got him to focus on now. Lydia moves against him, pulling him closer, as she deepens the kiss, because she needs to know that they both know the other really means it when they say that the other person's age doesn't matter. They're happy. She wants to keep it that way.
When she parts from the kiss, she rests her forehead against his, moving a hand up to hold his jaw. "I wish we could've met anywhere but here, but I'll take it," she whispers with a small smile.
no subject
no subject
"I guess that would depend on how we met, sweetie." If they'd passed one another in the street, she doubts either of them would've noticed the other, both blind in their own ways. "I know this place isn't real...and I know eventually, we'll all figure out a way to go home. When that happens, will you be looking for me?"
no subject
Her words make him smile slightly. It would depend on how they met. Maybe if their worlds collided, they'd notice each other. "I would. I'd at least want to meet you in the real world. Maybe see if we could be this happy out there."
no subject
And in a similar vein...just how many bricks would her mother shit if she found out Lydia's dating a man eleven years her senior? If Lydia was in her twenties, she doubts her mother would care. ...but she isn't.
"I'd want to meet you in the real world, too," she says, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth before she presses another chaste kiss to his lips. "I think we could be." If they don't pay attention to the worlds around them, anyway. Those could make things a little more difficult. "...we'd be so far away. A whole country between us, right?" She's pretty sure she remembers him saying he's from New York City — that could've been Ray, but she doesn't think it was; she's pretty sure that was Matt.
no subject
He can't answer that honestly and he doesn't want to answer it any other way. He doesn't think he would worry about how it would affect his career as his reputation, at least among other lawyers, isn't great. He does think that this thing between them is worth giving it a shot in this world or the real one.
A great many, Matt is sure. This is why he worries about her and the age gap. He worries that there are things she hasn't thought of. He doesn't have any parents to concern. Foggy would eventually come around to being happy for him. He might even not need an 'eventually' to be happy for him.
Those things make all relationships difficult. Matt's real life would make any relationship difficult. It's ended more than one relationship before they ever really got a chance to start. He nods a little. "We would. My practice is in Hell's Kitchen." More than that, he loves Hell's Kitchen. It's his tiny part of the city. "You're in California, aren't you? We'd have to try a long distance relationship." Or one of them would have to move.
no subject
She nods against him. "Near San Francisco," she clarifies and bites back her reflexive urge to point out that long distance relationships never work. Instead, she asks a question. "How far is Hell's Kitchen from Boston?"
She'd be in California for however long it took to get the situation with Harvard ironed out again, but then she'd go to Boston. A short pause and then, "how far to Princeton...?" Also not a bad school. She could transfer. Lydia thinks that's in the northeast. Her face lights up suddenly and she turns in his arms.
"What about Cornell? That's in New York!" She knows that because Cornell had been her third choice after Harvard and Stanford; her safety school, actually, however arrogant that sounds.
no subject
"A couple of hundred to Harvard, about 50 miles to Princeton." It's a good school. He knows that, but he's not sure how he feels about Lydia changing her idea of her future for him. The idea that she would be closer makes him happy, but he also wants to make sure that she doesn't have any regrets because of him. "Cornell is just about the same distance as Harvard," he tells her with a smile. "Columbia is in New York City. That's where I graduated from." It doesn't sound arrogant. She has to have back-up schools. He hadn't really thought much about back-ups simply because he had to get a scholarship so he'd applied to every university with a decent law program he could find. He'd been lucky his first choice had given him a full ride.
no subject
"I guess I've some homework to do when I get home, then," she says softly, tilting her head up to kiss him. God, she loves kissing him. Lydia loves the way that Matt makes her feel. He's blind and yet he's made her feel more beautiful than anyone else has ever been able to. He makes her feel safe and loved and warm. He makes her feel alive.
no subject
"I guess you do," he murmurs against her lips as he kisses her, his fingers curling against her cheek as he tilts her face into the kiss, deepening it as he pulls her closer with his other hand.
no subject
Her fingers are in his hair, scratching fingernails gently against his scalp as she shifts to be even closer to him still. There's just something about Matt that makes her always want more. That apparently makes her want to turn her life plan on their head to accommodate this man into them.
When their kiss breaks, Lydia presses her forehead to his, smiling as she whispers. "Thanks for being the best part of this place."
no subject
He moans softly as her fingernails scratch against his scalp and she moves closer. Any and all age gap is forgotten. She makes him feel alive and hopeful, like he has a life worth living even in this place.
He grins as well, pressing a kiss to the tip of her nose before resting his forehead back against hers. "You don't have to thank me for that. I'm happy to be that because you've become the part of my life that I like the most."
no subject
"I guess Friend Computer can do a thing or two right once in a while after all," she purrs, fingernails still raking lightly over his scalp in an attempt to get him to make that sound again, "since we were assigned the same room and all."
It's not something she'd ever have thought she'd admit or would ever want to acknowledge in so many words that she feels, but she's kind of grateful to the Computer for assigning Matt to the room she shared with Dick. She's not sure they would be this close if it hadn't.
Lydia's cheeks warm pleasantly with his words and she presses a chaste kiss to his lips before returning her forehead to his. "Nobody's ever said anything like that to me before," she admits, and the sad thing is that it's true. Jackson said he loved her, but he never said the words. Aiden was just for fun. Her father walked away and her mother's too stressed out. No one has ever told Lydia she's the most anything in their life except "smart." Matt's words are new and exciting to mull over and she gives herself a second to bask in the afterglow of the sentiment.
no subject
He smiles a little at her words, leaning his head into her touch, into that divine feeling of her fingernails scraping against his scalp. His words have a hint of that moan to them. "Occasionally, though I'm not sure that it was done on purpose."
Matt is grateful for the same thing. He's reasonably certain they wouldn't have gotten as close if they hadn't shared the same room. It's so much easier to let one's guard down in those vulnerable hours before sleep. They might have gotten close, but it would have taken so much longer simply because Matt doesn't let people in easily.
"Then they were very, very dumb. You're amazing, Lydia and everyone in your life ought to feel that way," he tells her in a whisper as his hands stroke over Lydia's cheekbones and face.
no subject
Her eyes close in a slow blink and smiles as she leans into his touch, allowing herself to relax a little more. She's not likely to ever say so out loud, but Matt touching her face is one of her actual favorite things in life these days.
"If you're the only one that ever feels that way, Matt, that's good enough for me," she whispers back.
no subject
He knows that she likes it simply from the way she reacts. He enjoys it as well. It allows him to see her in a different sort of way.
He smiles at her words and leans in to kiss her softly, a kiss full of emotion, something to convey how he feels about her. "Then you should always remember I feel that way."
no subject
Leaning back just slightly so that she can look at him, Lydia smiles. She knows that even though he can't see the smile, he can hear it in her voice. Some people probably thought that was a myth, that a smile can be heard in a tone of voice, for example, over the phone. It isn't a myth.
"I couldn't forget if I tried," she says back softly before giving him another chaste kiss to the lips.
(( ooc: not really sure where to go from here, so I'm wondering if that means this is a good place to call it complete? what do you think? ))
