Open Post 2016 2017 Edition

☻Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
☻Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
☻Have fun!

I. Roadtrip
1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.
II. Cuddles1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!
III. Hurt/Comfort1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
IV. Texts from Last Night1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen
V. Intimacy1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.
VI. SENTINEL GUIDEPrompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?
oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?
oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.
oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.
005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.
oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.
oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.
oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!
Other Options
Don't like any of the above? Here are some other options:1. Picture Prompt: go here or any of your other favorite picture sites. Leave me a few pictures and I'll set something up.
2. Pick a prompt from this prompt tumblr or try googling OTP prompts
3. Insomnia! One or both of you can't sleep. Be awake together.
4. Leave me a scenario, lyrics, a word or a quote

And how exactly did that work? Did he take it through the auto wash. No, seriously, she's been in the TARDIS' head (heart?) and around the Doctor often enough to know it's a reflection of the Doctor himself, an image he wants to create, of how he feels about himself. The man that pops his head out isn't familiar in the least and that gives her enough pause that she doesn't push her way in. She simply blinks at him, gaping, absorbing and processing. That means he must have...
Not died.
Well...sort of died.
He's not her Doctor anymore.
Who's taking care of him now?
No matter what he looks like, he's still her Doctor.
Not hers. The.
The Doctor.
And then the door creaked open again and the unfamiliar face popped out again.
A smile slowly burst over her face as she raised her hand and waggled her fingers in a wave. "I'd take your hand and say run, but that's sort of your line, innit?"
no subject
Which actually was sort of an understatement, from his point of view, but he didn't need to go bringing that up.
He glanced aside for a beat, then back to her, and raised a hand to wave with his fingers, himself, sort of sheepishly, still with that air of a cross between an elderly bachelor and a delinquent nine year old.
"...hello."
He relaxed more than a little when she did react, at least, and grinned at her quip, pointing at her like aha, well played.
"Ha, well, has been, yeah, still is, a bit, Rose Tyler..."
He clearly shifted trains of thought completely when he said her name--but then trailed off immediately like he wasn't quite sure what else to actually say. It was complicated for him, probably was for her also, and none of it was easily expressed in words without making it seem trite and absurd with banality. It wasn't the sort of situation where one simply asks how've you been? He even raised his hands as though to gesture something, but just ended up gesturing at her, like yup that sure is you.
Not that he could stop talking for more than a few seconds, his expression growing a bit more sheepish as a pertinent question came to mind.
"Sorry, ah, not quite sure but... how long..?"
no subject
She was struggling not to hug him. The struggle was real.
This Doctor was so different and she wanted to examine those differences, run her hand through his floppy hair and place her hand against his cheek.
Joy at seeing him bubbled out from between her lips, a sort of laughter for no particular reason except that he was here.
She'd missed the way he said her name. Rose Tyler. That, at least, the way he said her name, was the same.
Complicated tended to be an understatement where they were concerned. No, it wasn't that sort of situation and remember that struggle she was dealing with? She lost the battle with it when he raised his hands to gesture at her, and flung her arms around him in a hug. She squeezed him tight, not caring much if he hugged her back.
When he asked his question, her words were muffled by his shoulder. "Three years." And she missed him every single one of those years, even though she had the metacrisis version of him.
no subject
(Rule 87.)
"Ohh, three years, well, I've done worse..."
His good cheer flagged for a moment, there--there was someone else he'd made to wait altogether too much, but he really didn't want to think about that... so he distracted himself with a less unpleasant concern, peering out the door, over her shoulder.
"...oi, he's not around, is he?"
The Doctor was pretty confident she could guess who he meant; who else in her life would he be worried about, after all?
no subject
(One of the best rules)
She laughs again at that, but there are tears in her eyes. Happy tears. She's so glad to see him. She's lost enough in this moment that she doesn't notice his flagging cheer.
"Right. No. He's off with UNIT right now. Works for 'em."
no subject
He smiles to himself a bit whimsically--that expression at least was definitely one of this face's new tricks. There was still much of that bittersweetness in his eyes, but he didn't burn nearly so intensely as his previous incarnation.
At least, not on the outside.
"He's got a desk and ev'rything, then, I s'pose?"
Of course, he doesn't really expect her to get the reference, but he's fine with inside jokes, and this one was especially fitting, given his recent experiences. He set her down, pulling back enough to get a look at her.
"Ohh, you're looking... fantastic, you're doing well, yeah? Keepin' out of trouble?"
...whether she actually was or not, she was probably at least keeping in less trouble than when she was traveling with him.
no subject
The whimsical expression looks good on him. She tilts her head a little at him. A whole new face with whole new expressions to figure out. She will always miss the old faces, but the idea of getting to know this face is exciting.
"Definitely got a desk. He even goes in to sit at it most days."
She laughs at the compliment, that fizzy, warm excitement bubbling up in her. He always does this to her, and apparently it doesn't matter what he looks like. It's him, not his regeneration.
"Might have been a bit of trouble a time or two. Workin' with Torchwood again." So she's still in quite a bit of trouble, but less than she was with him.
no subject
The Doctor laughs aloud, if briefly, at the image of his previous self actually sitting at a desk, perhaps even in an office, or a cubicle. He can't really help a little bit of schadenfreude, in that respect, especially given how combative his relationships with his other regenerations tends to be. He wasn't about to say he'd dodged a bullet, there, but Rose already had seen how aggravated he was at the notion of having to get a real-people job.
Although he still smiles, there's a definitely narrowing of his eyes at the mention of Torchwood. Jack had done more than a little to warm him to the notion, but there was a lot the Doctor still didn't like about it--not least of all the Battle of Canary Wharf and its consequences, which Rose surely knew so very well.
"...Torchwood, eh? What've they been up to, then? Behaving themselves, I hope."
Of course, she knew him, and even with that new face, somewhere deep in his eyes, so much older and more secretive than before, there was still hiding that old anger. He maybe wasn't about to do anything rash, but he was certainly at least wary.
no subject
Yeah. She's got mixed feelings about Torchwood. They (along with UNIT) helped her make the time cannon in order to get her back to the Doctor. She also remembers that horrible, horrible goodbye. Mixed is a good way to describe her feelings for Torchwood.
"Workin' on safer ways to travel between dimensions." In short, no. Not behaving themselves. Rose is trying to help them because she doesn't like the idea of never seeing the Doctor again. Of course, she hides it under the guise of needing a safe way for the Doctor to get back here in case this dimension needs him.
She knows he's probably not going to be happy about that, but she's also not going to lie to him about it. Besides, maybe they've been successful and that's why he's here now.
sorry, I still live :X
"Ohh, you lot, you see somewhere you haven't been, something you haven't done, and just can't resist, can you? Pretty sure we've already been through that, though, the first time we were here, you can't just cross worlds, not unless the boundaries are damaged--a hole, a thin spot in reality..."
He pauses just a moment, his expression growing a bit more serious.
"...cracks. Same as any sort of wall. 'Safe' is something it's never going to be."
No worries!
"I know," she tells him. "We're not making any holes or cracks. We're just identifying the ones that are there." She knows what they're doing probably isn't safe nor is it advisable, but how can she resist a chance to see him again, even if he doesn't look like her Doctor anymore.
"We're doing our best to make it safe." As safe as can be anyway. Speaking of crossing dimensions...she gives him a puzzled look. "'m not complainin', but what are you doing here?"
no subject
"...me? Ah... right, yeah, sorry, I was tracking a signal, a TARDIS, well, looked like a TARDIS."
She knows already how much he lost in the Time War--she can surely piece together why he'd be excited to see signs of another TARDIS. He glances downward, toward her key, and sighs a little as he continues on to explain, in case it's not obvious.
"Probably just an echo off the TARDIS key, distorted as it passed through a pocket universe trapped between parallel universes."
no subject
Yes, she sees that look; she even anticipated that look. She's still not sorry. After all, he's here isn't he? And she doesn't know if her work had anything to do with it or not, but she's still not going to apologize.
A look of sympathy crosses her face before she shuts it down. Yes, she knows exactly what he thought. Instead of another Time Lord, he only got her. She ruffles her hair a bit at the back of her head. "Yeah...sorry. Just me," she tells him with a bit of a precocious smile.
"Well you're here. Goin' to take me for a ride?" she asks, dipping her head in the direction of the TARDIS.
