☻Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
☻Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
☻Have fun!

I. Roadtrip
1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.
II. Cuddles1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!
III. Hurt/Comfort1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
IV. Texts from Last Night1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen
V. Intimacy1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.
VI. SENTINEL GUIDEPrompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?
oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?
oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.
oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.
005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.
oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.
oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.
oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!
Other Options
Don't like any of the above? Here are some other options:1. Picture Prompt: go here or any of your other favorite picture sites. Leave me a few pictures and I'll set something up.
2. Pick a prompt from this prompt tumblr or try googling OTP prompts
3. Insomnia! One or both of you can't sleep. Be awake together.
4. Leave me a scenario, lyrics, a word or a quote

"I like that," he says honestly, smiling genuinely at her when Lucy suggests they spend time talking. He's not big on television and he could enjoy a movie, but if he's going to entertain himself with outside influence, he'd just as soon pick up a book. The idea of spending some time just talking to Lucy and really getting to know her. He's spent a long while looking at her, but he's never really talked to her about anything with substance. Quite frankly, he's really looking forward to that.
So when she offers her place, he nods. "Either way. But that sounds good to me. I like that better than anything else I could've come up with. See? This is why I let you make the decisions."

At least she's pinned him right even if she doesn't know how right she is about the loud music. Later, when (and if) she does find out about him, she will appreciate that he went through such discomfort to see her, assuming he tells her that he only went to the bar to see her.
"Hmmm, see we're going to be just fine, Sugar," she tells him, pleased that he's so positive about the idea of just talking and getting to know each other. Lucy generally manages to entertain herself somehow regardless of where she is, but she does enjoy a good America's Top Model marathon. Seeing pretty girls be catty will never not be awesome. If he's serious about letting this develop into something more, about his growing feelings and interest in her, it's probably a good idea that they get to know each other and talk about something of substance. Of course, Lucy's self-confidence is a facade and if things are put that way, she'll worry that she doesn't have anything of substance to talk to him about. She's not dumb, but she's never done particularly well in school either. The news depresses her, so she doesn't watch much of it. Lucy is very much a here and now girl who doesn't think she has a lot to contribute substance wise.
"It's settled then. We'll eat then head out to my place. Maybe I'll bake for you."

Because he was scared, is the actual answer. He doesn't like having feelings for people. He doesn't like feeling emotionally vulnerable like that and when he's with someone, he pours his whole self into her. That can be rewarding if she loves him back — like Paige — or it can be devastating if she means to lure him into a false sense of security — like Kate. Derek has no actual idea where Lucy stands on that spectrum. If he had to guess, he'd think closer to Paige's end of the spectrum, given not on par with it since they don't know one another well enough for her to love him. But then...he'd thought Kate and Jennifer had been at that end of the spectrum, too, and he'd been horribly wrong about that.
So the reason he hasn't asked her out until now is because he'd been waiting for himself to move on and forget her; stop stalking her favorite hot spots and stop thinking about her all the time. It just...never really happened and now here he is, for better or worse.
The rest of their dinner goes pretty well and Derek finds himself looking forward to some alone, quiet time with Lucy to get to know who is hiding behind the beautiful face and bubbly demeanor. He wants to know her. He wants to be with her. He wants this feeling to never be perverted or shatter. Most of all, he wants her to feel the same and he can't gauge whether she does until she knows a little more about him. Derek doesn't like sharing, but he doesn't mind sharing a little if it means forging a bond with another person. If there's one thing Derek craves above all else, it's companionship, no matter how much he might pretend otherwise.
"Where to?" he asks when they're in the car and he's got the engine running. He has no idea where they're going because he doesn't know this town and he doesn't know her. He knows the hotel and the bar and maybe a coffee shop or two. She'll have to guide him where they're meant to go next.

Scared is a lot more truthful answer and it's one that Lucy will understand if she stops to think about it. She rarely does. She barrels into things without considering how she could get hurt, believing that she won't get emotionally invested, and yet, she's already emotionally invested in this thing with Derek. She's got no intention of lulling him into a false sense of security or hurting him. Of course, there's no way for Derek to know that. It hasn't even occurred to Lucy that she can hurt him. It's just not on her radar.
She's actually really glad that hadn't happened. She's looking forward to getting to know Derek better, into spending time with him.
She chatters throughout dinner about surface things like football and work, about organizing her closet (one of her major ways to cope with life) and her favorite movie (The first Resident Evil). Lucy is scared too. She's scared to let Derek know her because what if he doesn't like the insecure control freak that's underneath the bubbly demeanor? She likes Derek and she wants him to stick around. She wants him to keep looking at her that way. She wants to know why he looks so haunted sometimes and why he's single. She wants to know about his family and what his favorite thing to eat is. She wants to know who he really is.
She gives him directions. It's in the older part of town near the University, a big old house with white columns. There are huge trees in the front yard and a brick driveway. She'll direct him past the circle drive to a smaller drive that sits on the side of the house. There's a wood privacy fence all around the yard and a gate. "We'll go straight back to my place," she says as she gets out and moves to the gate. There's a smaller pool house in the back yard. That's where Lucy lives.
The pool house has wooden floors and large windows. It sits next to a big pool near the back of a lush yard. It's got two bedrooms, a small kitchen and living room and an open floorplan. Everything is clean and elegant. Unfortunately, there is a lot of pink.

Her home, or rather her parents' home, perhaps, reminds Derek a lot of the Hale House in its heyday. Before the fire that ravaged it and the bulldozers that you're the remaining shell down a decade after. He tries to put that out of his mind.
"Okay, cool," Derek agrees and he follows her through the gate and into the yard. Even the pool house is impressive. At least, for a pool house. Lucy leads the way and Derek heads into her house with her, giving her a little smile when they're inside.
"This is nice," he says. Then pauses. "Very pink, but nice," he adds playfully.

She'd rather him not be uncomfortable here. She still considers it her home and she's in the big house a lot, but she also likes that she gets to have her own space and her parents, for the most part, respect that.
Well, it might have undergone some remodeling when Lucy went to college in hopes that she'd come back home. She's the only child for her parents and they tried a long time to have her. She's sort of their miracle baby.
She laughs at that and glances around. "Well, it's very personalized for it occupants. Do you want a drink? I have beer, a mini bar, soda, water and milk."

He normally wouldn't take the offer except that he wants to take the opportunity while she's headed off to get it to actually scent his surroundings. That's how Derek gets familiarized with a location. Humans look around, observe with their eyes. Derek observes with his nose. It just probably would look a little funny for him to be sniffing the air deliberately if she happened to catch him doing it.
Hearing her starting to return, Derek ends his effort, satisfied with the scent of Lucy pretty thoroughly permeated in the space — there are scents of a couple of others, one more strong than the others, but he figures those belong to her friends or family members — and he smiles back at her. "This is nice." He's already said that, but it merits mentioning again. He's living in a hotel room, after all, and before that an empty loft, and before that an abandoned train depot, and before that, the burned out shell of his old family home. "It's homey. I like it."
no subject
Really, if he's going to stick around, he's going to have to remedy that hotel room thing.
"Come sit down with me. Please," she adds the last bit so she doesn't seem too bossy, though she can be bossy.
no subject
Which...well. That's both true and untrue, because it's a nice hotel so the room is pretty nice. It just doesn't look homey and Derek would prefer homey and lived-in to luxurious any day. There was a time in his life when that wouldn't be true, but ever since the fire, it has been. He just hasn't been able to make himself build a home in the places he's lived. Everything always felt temporary.
Once you start, you don't stop. You'll always be running.
This is the first time Derek's stopped running in a long, long time.
no subject
Nice hotel rooms are wonderful and a lot of fun, but they get old. They're not meant for long term. "Maybe, I can come over and see your hotel room sometime. We can swim in the pool and order room service." It won't make the hotel room home, but it might make it a little more fun for Derek.
She really hopes he'll stick around and that's scary to Lucy. Letting someone in, letting them be a permanent part of her life and falling in love makes her vulnerable. Her heart could get broke. He'd eventually have to see all those ugly parts of her that she doesn't like. She still wants it, knowing all of that.
