Open Post 2016 2017 Edition

☻Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
☻Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
☻Have fun!

I. Roadtrip
1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.
II. Cuddles1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!
III. Hurt/Comfort1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
IV. Texts from Last Night1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen
V. Intimacy1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.
VI. SENTINEL GUIDEPrompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?
oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?
oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.
oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.
005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.
oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.
oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.
oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!
Other Options
Don't like any of the above? Here are some other options:1. Picture Prompt: go here or any of your other favorite picture sites. Leave me a few pictures and I'll set something up.
2. Pick a prompt from this prompt tumblr or try googling OTP prompts
3. Insomnia! One or both of you can't sleep. Be awake together.
4. Leave me a scenario, lyrics, a word or a quote

Dean chuckles a little. "The cost of feeding him alone," he grins, though it's Dean that constantly eats rather than Sam. "You'll just have to visit more often. He'll tell you doesn't like his belly scratched but..." And he gets tickled at the idea of trying to scratch Sam's belly and chuckles for just a moment.
See, that's something that Dean doesn't have an answer for. "Sweetheart...you're asking the wrong person when it comes to dating advice." He's even less qualified to tell her anything about domestic life, he thinks. "I can tell you how to get laid, but if you actually want to date..."
Her change in demeanor throws him off a little, warns him and his eyes narrow a little. "You want....I mean...you're gorgeous, but...we're friends. You sure you want...I guess we could just grab another hotel room." He's not completely understanding what she's saying.
no subject
He doesn't seem to have understood where she had been going with her train of thought, but it's simple to see that he's tuned into the pivot she's made. Though, admittedly, he's on the wrong track and the way her face scrunches with a mixture of amusement and incredulity shows it. "No, D—I'm not trying to sleep with you," she laughs. But then she stops laughing just as quickly as she started. "Unless you think that's more effective on a first try. Is it more effective on a first try than getting a doctor and insemination involved?"
Here's the thing: Dean is human. So there's literally no precedent for this. At least, not to Kara's knowledge. She can't even ask Clark because even if he and Lois ever decided to have kids, their situations would be steeped in a completely separate set of issues and concerns.
...focus.
"Okay, so...one, I know we're friends. Like, I wouldn't ask this of Sam, even though we're sort of friends; this is important. Two, I do not want to conceive a baby in another crusty room in this place, no. Like...no. Just..." she shakes her head. "No. Three, it isn't about getting laid. ...I want kids. But, as an alien both literally and figuratively, I legally can't do that by myself on this planet. So...will you help me?"
no subject
No, he's not entirely on the same track as she is, but he's got the gist of what she wants. Procreation isn't something Dean has worried much about. In fact, his entire adult (ish) life, he's focused on not procreating so bear with him while he tries to figure this out. His first instinct is to be offended (and a little hurt) by the way she's laughing, but he quickly reminds himself that this is Kara, his best friend. He doesn't want to sleep with her anyway (right?). He smirks at her question. "The hell would I know? I'e spent the last twenty some odd years trying not to get someone pregnant. YOur way is probably better."
And most of the time Dean forgets that Kara isn't human because she is so human ninty-nine percent of the time. He's not thinking about the precedent they'd be setting; he's way too involved in the idea of having kids and being a father and...would Kara want him around the kid? Would he be a father, or just some guy that comes in and out? Some friend of Kara's?
They've got a lot to talk about if this is something Kara really wants to do.
Dean's brow is furrowed as Kara talks and while he is listening, his mind is also completely overwhelmed with questions and thoughts. "Would I--I mean, would you want me to be a dad or just 'Mom's friend that comes through town sometimes'?"
Because in so many ways, Dean had an absent father and while he honestly believes John did the best he could, he also knows that he wasn't the dad he should have been.
no subject
Her eyebrows lift, a little bit surprised at his question. "No?" she asks more than says, if only because she'd thought that she'd made herself pretty clear already since she'd been more focused on how to get children without Mon-El than Mon-El himself, but she realizes a little belatedly that Dean's a man and their brains don't necessarily process thoughts in the same way, so it's completely possible that he missed the nuance there because his focus had been emotionally supporting his friend when she'd been complaining.
Realizing it's been a few seconds of silence since the original response, Kara quickly continues. "I mean, no...I...if you want to? I won't say you can't, but no, that wasn't what I was fishing for...I'm less looking for a parenting partner and more looking for sperm," she says bluntly, her face going pink with embarrassment at having to spell it out just to avoid any additional discomfort stemming from her not being clear and him, therefore, not being on the same page. "...which is a thing I can't...you know that. Never...never mind. Should I...?" she asks, realizing how awkward she's already actually made this whole conversation, her question trailing off as she points vaguely...away.
no subject
A frown, something not satisfied and not agreeable, sets on his face when she says no. He clears his throat, smirking but equally as embarrassed as Kara at such a frank discussion. "Pretty sure you're the only chick to ever tell me that," he jokes, trying to ease the tension between them. When she makes gestures to ask if she should leave, he shakes his head and takes a long swig of whiskey. "No. I mean...if this is something you really want to do, we've got a lot to talk about."
He takes a deep breath, holding it a moment before letting it out in a sigh. "My dad was gone a lot. Weeks at a time sometimes and I know the situation is way different. You'd be a real mom for one, but...I don't want my kid to grow up without a dad. I mean....maybe I won't be the greatest and I'll probably make a shit ton of mistakes, like saying shit in front of him or her--and I can't be there all the time. I tried that and I either fight the monsters that are out there, or they come looking for me. I'd like to be around a lot though. Have my own room, go to science fairs and shit.I'll give you as much money as I can to take care of the kid. I don't want to just get in on the fun shit and I actually know how to change diapers. Sammy wasn't always house broken. If I'm gonna do this, I wanna do it at least halfway right."
no subject
Kara leans back a little against the seat and looks over at him with sincere interest. One thing Dean and Kara don't do: talk about their dead parents. They just don't do it. Sometimes they talk about Kara's adoptive parents or the planet she came from. Sometimes Dean talks about when he was a kid or a teenager, but they don't bring up their parents. She'd always known why she hadn't. Now she knows why he hadn't. The fact that his mother's not mentioned at all suggests to Kara that she's dead and his father worked; probably hunted. It makes her wonder briefly and absently whether that's why Dean does this in the first place.
By the time he finishes his schpiel and Kara hands him back the bottle of whiskey, a small, endeared sort of smile is on her face. What? The idea of him changing Sam's diapers reminds her of when Krypton was still alive and well and she would babysit Clark for his parents; she changed her fair share of diapers, too. "Do you want the kid to know that you're their dad? Or do you want to be the cool uncle or, whatever, Mommy's friend?" she asks, mostly to clarify that she's understanding what he's saying. She's clear on the fact that he wants a part in the child's life and Kara's fine with that and has said as much. She wants to make sure she's understanding if he wants the kid to call him Daddy and whether they then need to figure out how to explain their connection or lack thereof to a child someday who will be surrounded by people whose parents love each other in a way very different to that of the relationship she and Dean share.
no subject
There's no reason to talk about their dead parents. They can't change the fact that they're dead, and talking about it just hurts, or at least it hurts Dean. He assumes it hurts Kara as well. One day, he'll tell her about Mary and John, mostly because he thinks she should probably know if they're going to have a kid together. He'll ask about her parents, invite her to tell him about them if she wants, but he won't push her. John is one hundred percent the reason he started this; it's still part of the reason he does this, but now it's more because the world needs this, and he can do this. He can leave the world a better place than he found it; he can save people. He has to hunt.
He takes a smaller sip of the whiskey when she hands it back, leaving it loose in his hand so she can take it again if she wants, turning a little more to face Kara, one foot drawn up into the seat, the other lazing toward her side of the car. "I think I'd make a half decent dad," he says. "Yeah. I'd like to be Dad." He rubs at the back of his neck, scrubbing a hand over his hair, too short to really mess up. Yeah, they'll probably have to explain their different relationship to a kid, but Dean thinks it's worth to for a child to know he (or she) has two parents who love him, who love each other, even if it's not in the way that other kids' parents love each other.
His brow furrows a little. "That okay? Besides, kid will already have a dorky uncle. I think that fills the uncle quota."
no subject
She smiles though, and nods when Dean asks if that'd be okay. "Yeah," she breathes back, sounding almost as though she's surprised he even has to ask. It does make sense, but still.
"...how should we go about it? I mean, I could...I can't really go to like...a regular doctor. I mean, I could, but I can't let them take my blood, so I guess I kind of can't..." she's babbling a little, mostly to herself as she tries to work out her thoughts into something that someone other that Kara can understand. "There's medical staff at the DEO, but I can't really take you...you...are not actually supposed to know about the DEO. Please do not tell anyone I just mentioned it, it's not a thing. Pretend it isn't a thing," she says quickly, eyes widening. There are things she's sure that Dean has to hide from her and the DEO is one thing she's supposed to hide from him; from everyone, because it's especially difficult to explain and, well. It's supposed to be a secret. The president knows about it, but that's kind of..it.
And now, she's blabbed to a civilian. Her best friend, but still.
"Will it be weird if we...?" she starts and then trails off and shakes her head. "Yeah, no, it would be weird. And I could accidentally break you, which would be decidedly bad..." She's only ever actually slept with Mon-El. Lots and lots and lots of times, but Mon-El is like her. She could far too easily snap Dean like a twig if she got too rough without realizing that it's too rough, given that Mon-El is her only frame of reference. "...oh man, this is going to be complicated..." For that, she has the grace to look apologetic, but not so much grace that she fails to slip in the puppy eyes so that he won't be mad that she's making this so muddy before he's even officially said he'll help her out.

While Dean may want to be a dad (if they're going to do this thing) he does worry that he wouldn't be good at it. After all, he thinks Sam turned out pretty great, but in a lot of ways, he'd still be a first time dad.
As for how they ought to go about it...the babble has Dean giving her a confused, wide-eyed look. "Not a thing," he finally says when she's ended the babble. Dean is good at keeping secrets. He can keep Kara's as well.
HIs eyebrows shoot up to his hairline when she says she could accidentally break him. He rubs his hand over his face at the puppy eyes. "Yeah, it'll probably be complicated. We're trying to have a kid." He takes a deep breath. "Promise this won't be weird afterwards and I'll take a vacation. We'll go somewhere nice and...try to have a kid."
no subject
But then he goes on and Kara's face lights up with pleasant surprise. Before she can stop herself, she's leaning over and throwing her arms around him and hugging him probably harder and tighter than she means to; almost definitely than she ever has in the past.
"I promise, I swear. I swear it won't be weird!" she insists, letting go of him abruptly and realizing she was probably squishing him. "Oh, sorry. Sorry, sorry, oh my God. I promise it won't be weird, I won't let it get weird," she goes on quickly, looking him in the eye. "And we don't have to do it right now, or even next week or next year, I just...I mean, obviously, I would rather sooner, um, than later, but...you know, life gets in the way and Supergirl gets busy and so do the Winchesters and...I um...you know, there's no rush. But I mean, before I'm thirty. Uh, would be good. I think. ...right?"
no subject
The hug takes him by surprise. He chuckles, hugging her in return, rubbing her back a little. He doesn't say anything because yeah, it's a little tighter and harder than usual, but it didn't hurt, not really.
The babbling is actually pretty adorable. Of course, it makes him worry that things are going to be weird, but if this is something the both of them want, they'll find a way to cope with it. "Yeah. Sooner is better. We don't have anything on the horizon right now. It's a good time, but let me know when and whether you want to go somewhere or stay at your place. I'll meet you where ever."
If they wait, Dean thinks they'll end up chickening out because regardless of how 'not weird' things are afterwards, it's going to change things forever. Change is scary and now that Dean is thinking about an actual kid of his, he doesn't want either one of them to change their minds.
no subject
But she can't help noticing that Dean's brightened. He sounds surprisingly especially engaged in the conversation now that it's been established officially that they're going to try to do this. Kara tells herself that's a good sign. If she can Dean are good, then now all she has to worry about is...explaining it to Alex. And Eliza. ...and J'onn and Winn and Jimmy and oh God, Mon-El works at the DEO now and he's going to ask questions and he could absolutely shatter Dean if he got jealous and ragey that she's moved on — because Mon-El will be lacking the ability to see that the moving on is only to some degree and it isn't a romantic one.
Her own brightness starts to falter when she loses herself in that train of thought, but it's when he speaks up again that Kara pulls herself out of the downward spiral to focus on the definitely and the now. "I don't think it's ever a good time for me, so I'm going to have to just...not factor 'wait for a good time' into things. Supergirl never sleeps. ...I mean, I sleep, I don't mean to say that I don't ever sleep, I'm just saying...you know what I'm saying. Anyway..." she says, shrugging. "I'd rather just, um, I think...be at my place? If that's okay? That's not weirder than a hotel somewhere, is it?" she asks, looking thoughtfully confused.
Her smile starts to return though when she thinks about that particularly. Not the having sex with Dean part, because that's...okay, that's weird. That's going to be weird and they're both just going to have to accept that, do the thing, and then let the weirdness go. But the trying part. "Is my place okay, or...?" She can't remember if she's ever actually had Dean over to her place, come to think of it. Even if she had, it hadn't been overnight; that much is for sure. She'd been dating Mon-El for the larger part of the time she's known Dean, so that wouldn't have flown.
"We're going to do this, really?" she asks hopefully.
no subject
Yeah, explaining it to family and friends is going to be a little weird. Dean is lucky that he only has to tell Sam and Cas. As for Mon-el...maybe Dean should look into getting kryptonite bullets or tranquilizers. He wouldn't kill him, but it'd be nice to have something that would put him down if he decided to get jealous and weird.
He grins a little at her. "Yeah, I get it. I'm lucky I've got Sammy and Cas to handle things." He hasn't taken an actual vacation from hunting in a very long time. It might be nice to hang out around National City and not hunt for a few days.
It probably is going to be weird, but it's not like Dean hasn't had weird sex before...not weird like that...weird like--not the point. "Yeah--no, I mean, your place is fine. Probably better than a hotel. I'll drive up, plan to stay a few days, we'll--" he stops himself from saying 'go at it like rabbits' and rubs his forehead with one hand then takes a big swig of whiskey. "I could use a vacation. Maybe you'll get a few days off too."
It's obvious in her voice and in her face how much she hopes he'll say yes. He grins at her and nods. "Hell yeah, we're going to do this. We're going to be freaking awesome parents too."
no subject
It's in the moment when Dean stops himself — she knows him well enough to mentally fill in the blank with something inappropriate — that the reality of the actual process hits Kara like a Mack truck. She's never thought about Dean...like that. How weird is it going to be to have him on top of her intentionally? The time he knocked her over to shield her with himself before realizing she was hiding Supergirl underneath those glasses and the cardigan doesn't count, because he wouldn't have done it if he'd known, she thinks. Also, that hadn't involved nudity.
It isn't like she isn't attracted to Dean. She has eyes; of course she is. It's just that she's never thought about it and the idea is a little foreign, even as her mind has begun to wander down that path. She takes in a sharp breath and looks back at him when he grins to confirm that they're going to do this after all. "...what are you going to tell Sam?" she asks. "I mean right now, or...you know, when you come up?"
no subject
Yeah, he'd apologize for that, but he's never needed to. His inappropriate remarks were never about Kara until now. The same reality is hitting him and it's not a bad reality. Kara is gorgeous; Dean has noticed that before, but she'd always had a boyfriend and never really shown any interest in him. Eventually, he'd stopped seeing her that way. She was just Kara. Now that he was looking at her in that light again, he's not sure how he ever kept from noticing the legs that went all the way to her neck or the blonde hair, the blue eyes, the body that's a little less busty than he usually likes but that he's suddenly noticing is just about perfect. Well, they don't have to do it with him on top if she doesn't want to. Yeah, it's probably going to be weird. Hopefully, they'll get past that.
His mind is wandering down that path as well, and it'll probably continue to wander down that path now that he's given it free reign. That's probably not a bad thing for either of them. Dean makes a face, considering that a moment. "The truth, but not now. Later after you've gone home, before I leave for your place."
no subject
"...you don't think he'll try to talk you out of it?" she wonders. Kara likes to consider Sam a friend, but that doesn't mean she knows him like she does Dean, now. She barely knows Sam at all. His reaction to his whole thing is anyone's guess, as far as she's concerned. He could congratulate his brother and cheer him on or remind him that he's jumping into something huge with little time to consider it. Kara can already hear Alex in her head saying the same sorts of things.
She's chewing her bottom lip. "Are you sure I shouldn't be there, so that it doesn't look like I'm being kind of sketchy or whatever? I don't...you know, want to make things more difficult, so if it's easier for me to be there, I want to be." She pauses, thinking of Alex's reaction and makes a little face. "...or, you know, it's fine if I....you know, uh. Go." She's feeling like Sam's probably going to react about as well as her sister is going to, which is to say, not at all. Kara hopes she's wrong, but...one never knows.
no subject
Dean exhales noisily at that. "Maybe? Probably," he admits. "But I can't be talked out of it. One of us ought to get something that resembles a damn happy ending." He's been thinking about what he's going to leave behind when he's gone. He knows it's not going to be a brother because Sam won't ever stop hunting either. Sam is probably going to tell him how much their lives aren't fit for kids, how he can't protect Kara or any children from the things they hunt, but Kara doesn't need his protection and there's a good chance that their child won't either.
"You definitely shouldn't be there. Sam knows you're not sketchy. If you're here, Sam won't say what he really means. He'll save it for when you do leave. Besides, what's he really going to do? Throw a hissy? I'm 38 years old. If I want to have a damn kid, I can have a damn kid."
Sam's probably not going to react well, but Dean doesn't care. He has made up his mind.
no subject
Dean seems pretty determined to put his foot down if Sam tries to talk him out of this. Kara doesn't have that kind of faith in herself with Alex, so she's just...hoping she can do the same. Although, Alex might not actually try to talk her out of it so much as use some kind of reverse psychology or something to make Kara talk herself out of it...
"Well, hopefully it won't mean he hates me, afterward..."
Kara swallows thickly, eyes shifting briefly toward the motel before settling back on Dean. "I should let you sleep..." she realizes belatedly, considering how late it is at night.
