Open Post 2016 2017 Edition

Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
Have fun!

I. Roadtrip

1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.

II. Cuddles

1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!

III. Hurt/Comfort

1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.

IV. Texts from Last Night

1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen

V. Intimacy

1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.

VI. SENTINEL GUIDE
Prompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?

oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?

oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.

oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.

005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.

oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.

oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.

oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!

Other Options

"Nope! You've already committed," she sing-songs. "You're lucky I'm not going to braid your hair, freeze bras and talk boys with you," she teases. Stiles can rest easy. She might paint her toes while he watches, but probably his feet are safe. He needn't worry about boy talk either since there isn't any boy talk to be had unless they're going to talk about him and his hair is far too short to braid. She's certainly not going to put her own bra in the freezer.

Sawyer had been, at least, spared that and even now, hearing it would earn him a tight hug. She knows that he lost his mom young, and maybe that also makes him being the one here perfect. He knows what she's going through. When her mother had first died, she'd been told by more than one person that at least they'd had time to prepare for it. However, Sawyer thinks that Stiles' experience is more like the what she'd gone through. She will probably have days to come where she will want to hole up alone, but for now she's attempting to learn how to live life after her mother's death.

"Definitely nothing sad or too dramatic," Sawyer yells from the kitchen. "Maybe something with lots of ass kicking and something we've seen before so we can talk if we want!" She turns the oven on in the kitchen and roots around in the fridge before popping a casserole dish in the oven and slipping back to her bedroom to haul blankets and pillows out. When she finally emerges from the bedroom, her arms are piled high with pillows and blankets, which she drops in the middle of the floor in front of the TV.

Laughing, Stiles shakes his head. "I mean, I don't have enough hair to braid or a bra to freeze, and talking about boys would be harder since we don't have any guys in common and we won't know who the other person is talking about," he points out. Although that doesn't really give her any reason why she can't paint his nails, so that doesn't help much in retrospect.

"Fair enough," he calls back as he starts looking through the buddy cop selection, because he figures that covers the most bullet points. He finally settles on something that they've both seen a couple of times and finally toes his shoes off to get a little more comfortable on the couch. While she's in the other room, he's trying to figure out the best way to look casual — when he isn't — and get comfortable while also appearing inviting for her. Which, really, feels kind of like the wrong thing to do because it feels ulterior-motive-y of him, but before he can think too much on it — or accomplish anything other than an awkward and uncomfortable position that's half-laying and half-sitting that he has to shift out of quickly anyway — she comes back into the room laden with blankets and pillows.

Stiles gets back to his feet to help her with them only for her to drop them on the floor. "Okay, are we fort-building, what are we doing here, Sawyer?" he teases playfully. "I went with Rush Hour, by the way," he adds.

"Wow, Stiles. You are totally failing at this slumber party thing," she jokes with him. Hearing him laugh completely transforms the house and Sawyer's mood. It makes her long for life that isn't filled with sadness. It makes her want to laugh and it makes her want to hug him because of this perfect, perfect timing.

Buddy cop is a pretty decent category to go with. Honestly, she's not terribly picky what they watch. She figures they'll end up talking through most of the movie anyway, and that's okay with her. It's more for background noise and an excuse to be slovenly. While he's having his mini crisis in the living room, she's not thinking much about her appearance. After all, Stiles has never looked at her like that, right? She doesn't think it probably matters that she's wearing leggings and a big sweatshirt or that she doesn't have on makeup. She took a shower and combed her hair that day. She's pretty sure that unless she looks (and smells) like she just rolled out of bed, Stiles won't notice. If she'd realized he was having a change of heart, she would have at least put on eyeliner and the red lipstick that she wears any time she's outside of the house. She might have also put on a bra. Oops?

"Nesting," she tells him as she toes some pillows back toward the coffee table. "Like building a pallet on the floor. Though, I guess we could make a blanket nest on the couch too." She appears to consider this, lips pursed, brows raised. "Good choice. You're officially a Netflix Jedi."

Laughing a little, Stiles holds up his hands defensively. "I never said I was good at sleepovers," he points out, blissfully unaware of the fact that something as simple as being able to laugh is having such an impact on the atmosphere. Perhaps his ignorance to it is half of the reason it has an effect: it's pure.

Nesting, she says, and Stiles gives an exaggerated nod. "Oooooh," he replies, grinning. "I vote nesting on the couch," he offers his opinion unprompted, because really, no matter how many blankets they pile under themselves on the floor, it's still going to be uncomfortable because it's still going to be a floor. If they use the couch, then they can forgo the padding and make a bigger nest. Right? At least, that's how Stiles imagines it. It's been more than a decade since he's done this sort of thing and a little part of him is kind of excited to revisit it as he creeps toward the end of his adolescence and into actual — as opposed to legal — adulthood.

"You want some help?"
johnnystorm: (Probably annoying someone)

[personal profile] johnnystorm 2016-10-28 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
That probably has a whole lot to do with it. This isn't forced nor does it have any ulterior motive. She also thinks that at least half of it is just Stiles himself. She didn't realize how she took him for granted when he was here, or how much she missed him until he was back.

"Nesting on the couch it is." He's got a point and that's clearly what sways her. Unless they want to drag a mattress down here (and why would they) it's going to be uncomfortable, while the couch is terribly comfortable. It just needs some pillows and blankets to really seal the deal. She's pretty psyched about it as well because it's revisiting a childhood that she was abruptly shoved out of. She'll help him hang out in adolescence a little longer.

"Yes, please," she chirps and starts tossing pillows toward the end of the couch that he's not sitting on. Pillow fights in their underwear is an event best scheduled for later (or you know, not at all). She'll grab a blanket and make her way to the couch. There's really not much arranging of the blankets. It's mostly just sort of piling it onto the couch and burrowing into it. Pillows can be arranged once Stiles has joined her.
companero: (ι've вeen leavιn' вeнιnd)

[personal profile] companero 2016-10-29 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Getting to his feet, Stiles moves to start helping her bring blankets from the floor where she's dropped them off to the couch where they can then burrow into them either together or separate to find the maximum level of comfort to be had in this situation. When he was a kid, he and Scott used to build blanket and pillow forts more than nest in them, so Stiles wonders if this is, like, the girl equivalent of fort building. Either way, he's never done it and he's kind of looking forward to trying it since Sawyer seems so pumped to do it.

Once they've got all the blankets and pillows on the couch, Stiles makes his way back and looks at her with a little lopsided smile. "Okay, what's the best way to do this for the optimum experience, here? I've never done the whole nesting thing, so you're going to have to be my guide, here," he says, sounding partially amused because he kind of is.

Certainly, this is a nice turn from their emotional greeting and he's looking forward to embracing this levity with the hopes of being able to lift her spirits a little.
johnnystorm: (Cool kids)

[personal profile] johnnystorm 2016-11-05 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
It's an easy task. She's built blanket and pillow forts before, but it's far too much effort and she doesn't want to put that effort in. She'd much rather just...nest. Honestly, she's more pumped about the company. Maybe she needs to get out more, or maybe she's just really glad to see Stiles.

The amusement is good. It's much better than mocking or indifference. "There's not a tried and true method," she tells him. "When it's just me, I sort of just curl up in the corner of the couch around a pillow and use the arm and back of the couch for support. So really, there are two choices and since it's your first time, I'll let you pick. You can pick a corner and curl up around me and I'll use a pillow, or we can pick separate corners and nest together, but not together."

He's already done a lot to raise her spirits.

Stiles can't help it, but a little laugh bubbles up as she answers him because, really, they're having a serious logistical discussion about snuggling in blankets right now. "Okay," he says when he settles a few seconds later. "How about this? Let's pad the corner of the couch with a couple of pillows and I'll settle in there and then you can come in with me and we'll make a Sawyer sandwich out of Stiles and blankets bread," he suggests.

And maybe that's a little shameless, because really, Stiles just wants an excuse to hold her.

"What do you think? Is that not going to be as comfortable as separate corners or...?" he asks, realizing belatedly how self-indulgent it sort of sounded and trying to gently backpedal just enough to give Sawyer an easy out.
johnnystorm: (Smirk)

[personal profile] johnnystorm 2016-11-11 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, they're having a serious, logistical discussion about snuggling. She pretends to consider that a moment, giving him a skeptical look. Finally she gives in with a smile. "Oh. Alright. I supposed I can tolerate being a Sawyer sandwich," she teases him.

Hey, she kind of wants him to have an excuse to hold her.

"Separate corners might be comfortable, but they're lonely." She's just going to set about padding the corner so they can start with the snuggling.
companero: (тo a мιѕeraвle ғιnal reѕтιng place)

Stiles smirks a little at the playful attempt at a long suffering sigh in her words. "I'm the worst, I know," he teases back as they start padding the corner of the couch. "Well, being lonely kind of defeats the purpose of doing the thing, you know? So I guess you have to be a Sawyer sandwich," he says with a facial shrug that turns into a grin.

They've got plenty of padding in place before Stiles finally settles on the couch and holds his arms out to her. He feels like he's waited forever to be able to hold her and now he finally can. Again, he feels a little guilty about secretly feeling that way, but it is what it is. "All right, let's get this snuggle party started."
johnnystorm: (Hey [happy])

[personal profile] johnnystorm 2016-11-11 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"At least you know it," she teases in return. She and Stiles don't seem to have lost that back and forth banter that they'd done before he'd left for college. She's glad because that had been one of her favorite parts of being with Stiles. They'd been so comfortable and they'd fit so well "It sure looks that way." The smile on her face, the expression on her face when she looks at him is so grateful.

When Stiles holds his arms out for her, Sawyer dives into them, grabbing a blanket as she snuggles against his chest. She's got her legs stretched out along the length of the couch. "Now see, you're good at this," she tells him.
companero: (ι've вeen leavιn' вeнιnd)

[personal profile] companero 2016-11-12 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
For a second, Stiles almost thinks that he sees gratitude, but he shakes the thought off because it doesn't make a lot of sense in the moment. He's not doing anything special right now; all he's done, he thinks, is pick up where they left off when he had to go off to college. At least, to the best of his ability.

Stiles smiles when she basically jumps at him and his arms wrap around her a moment after she's settled and drawn the blankets up around them, complimenting his ability to nest properly.

"You know, I'm good with this, but...I'm seeing a potential issue," he points out. Then, Stiles nods at the remote all the way over on the coffee table. ...which is not very far away at all, but will require movement. His arms tighten around her. "What are we supposed to do with it all the way over there?" he asks, but makes no attempt to let her go. He's picking on her again. Stiles leans in and whispers into her ear with a smirk, "you did not think this through very well, Sawyer."
johnnystorm: (Probably annoying someone)

[personal profile] johnnystorm 2016-11-12 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
He's not wrong about what he sees and really, she's grateful for something as simple as that. He's not tip toeing around her nor is he treating her like she's made of glass.

She groans a little at his realization. It's a valid problem. "Actually, I think you didn't think this through very well. If you'd put on Doctor Who we would have had hours of TV that it would just sail right through only pausing to ask us if we're awake at just the right time to go to the bathroom or get more food. I might have to re-evaluate your performance here," she tells him with a tsk.

She's not struggling to get away and that whisper in her ear sends goosebumps rushing over her skin. She swallows hard and reminds herself that this is Stiles. She doesn't need to go through that whole crushing on Stiles thing again.

Stiles balks at that, an incredulous grunt escaping him as he leans back. "Whoa how did this become my fault when the nesting and the Netflix were your idea and this is your house?" he asks, laughing. "That is such a load of bullcrap, holy wow, Sawyer. I mean...damn," he adds.

He's still for a moment and then he leans back in, resting his chin on her shoulder, his face drawn in thought. "Well...somebody's going to have to get that."

Still, he makes no effort to loosen his hold or encourage her to actually get the stupid remote. Mostly, because he doesn't want her to move, lest she decide not to return to this exact spot and Stiles likes her right where she is.
johnnystorm: (Default)

[personal profile] johnnystorm 2016-11-12 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)

She lifts a shoulder in a half shrug, unable to keep the smile off her face. "Blankets were my part and as you can see, that part is stellar. Netflix was your part." She actually manages to say this with a straight face.

"Hmmmhm," she hums in agreement, but she's not making an effort to break his hold. In fact, she seems rather content because she really kind of is.

She's not moving for the same reasons. She likes this spot and what if he shifts into something less welcoming and more 'you stay on your side, I'll stay on mine'? She's not taking that chance. "Or option B: We entertain ourselves and leave the remote where it is."

companero: (ι've вeen leavιn' вeнιnd)

Shaking his head, Stiles grins. "Oh no. No, choosing the movie was my part. I did that, I totally did that. It's right there on the screen begging to be played," he points out playfully.

It doesn't escape his notice though that Sawyer isn't struggling for him to let her go, either. He tells himself that it's because she's comfortable and warm. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that she's in his arms; that's just him. He doubts she really cares about that part one way or the other. It's hardly the first time they've done something like this before, anyway. It's just the first time that Stiles has probably wanted it more than he should.

"What did you have in mind?" he asks, sort of relaxing his hold on her without letting go.
johnnystorm: (Hey [happy])

[personal profile] johnnystorm 2016-11-17 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Mmmm, and yet, it's not being played," she responds in a smug sort of way as if clearly this is his fault as well.

Nope. Not struggling. She's had a crush on Stiles practically since they met. There's no doubt in her mind, at least, that the reason she isn't struggling has so much more to do with it being Stiles than the fact that she is comfortable and warm. He's so wrong. Of course, she assumes that Stiles's feelings for her are still of friendship, and she is happy to have her friend back. She'd made her peace with that a long time ago.

She presses her lips together when Stiles asks her what she had in mind. Unconsciously, she holds her breath a moment before exhaling and leaning up a little to look at him. Her hand moves from his chest to the curve of his neck and she swallows hard. If she's going to do this, she needs to do it now before she chickens out. She pushes herself up a little to press her lips against Stiles's lips, her hand sliding a little higher on his neck. She keeps the kiss soft, questioning, trying to gauge how he's coping with this new (to him) development.

"Because somebody left the remote on the table before nesting," Stiles continues her sentence and smirks just as smugly.  Her fault.  Totally her fault.  That's his story and he's sticking to it.

The pause that falls after his question makes Stiles a little bit nervous, he has to admit, because he's not really sure why she isn't answering.  He isn't sure if she's thinking or whether she had something in mind already and he missed a cue or something — that's an entirely possible and probably likely scenario, however much he doesn't like to admit that.  But there's something about the way that she's looking at him that has his stomach tying itself in anxious knots and he can't tell if it's the good kind of anxious because something awesome is about to happen or if it's the bad kind because he's prompted something and she's going to tease him for a second and then bust out giggling because she thinks he doesn't care about her as much as he does and that sort of thing would've been funny in high school.  Hell, it would be funny now if he didn't want the real thing so bad.

But then she kisses him and, for a second, his eyes are wide open with surprise before he finally closes them and, once he's processed that holy shit this is really happening, his hand makes its way to the side of her face, holding her jaw as he kisses her back.  This is what he'd been missing out on in high school because he'd been too stupid to know he was feeling it, but he's not going to waste the opportunity now.  No way in hell.

That second is almost enough to make Sawyer regret this, but then he's kissing her back, his hand at her jaw and every doubt about kissing him vaporizes. She leans into the kiss, her hand sliding down his chest.

She really hopes that this has turned out to be the awesome kind of anxiety for him. She really hopes that she's not making a huge mistake and is about to lose her friend.

After a moment, Stiles parts — but only barely — from the kiss and presses his forehead against hers. They've either just made things infinitely better for themselves...or heinously complicated.

"Took us long enough..." he jokes. Hopefully, she doesn't take his tendency to make jokes as an offense or affront. It's the way he deals with things and this is a big thing that can go one of two ways. He's hoping, obviously, that they don't feel like it's a mistake, but at the same time, there's the possibility that she decides it is. So yeah, there's anxiety there and it's awesome, but also...not awesome at all as he waits on tenterhooks for some sort of positive response. A negative one might be too much to take.

Well, she's hoping for infinitely better, but she kind of expects heinously complicated. After all, he is going back to college after winter break.

"Hey, I've been on this track for a while, but you liked the friends thing better," she jokes with him. She definitely doesn't take offense or affront. Joking is an excellent way to cope with things. This doesn't feel like a mistake to Sawyer. This feels right and natural, like it's something she should have been doing her whole life. She slides a hand up to his cheek, fingers spreading a little. She keeps her eyes closed, taking a deep breath of him. There's so much about Stiles she missed and now she knows she's going to miss even more when he leaves.

Stiles laughs a little in spite of himself. It feels like a bad time to laugh, and it isn't an amused laugh as much as it's a surprised one because...well… "I had no idea you liked me. You're really bad at communicating that sort of thing, if you were trying to get me to notice. Or I'm really bad at noticing. ...or both. Probably both," he stammers awkwardly. The fact of the matter is, he wishes he'd known. Maybe that would've made all of this harder, especially if she didn't want to call him away from school when her mom died. Maybe it's better it didn't happen then to dissolve when he went off to school, but he's going to have to go back eventually, either way.

Hopefully, the month break before the next semester will be enough for he and Sawyer to settle into something that will work for both of them before he has to go. Stiles would really hate to leave it unresolved.

He looks back at her fondly when she touches her cheek and he closes his eyes again, leaning to press another soft kiss against her lips after she's taken a deep breath. It's hard not to want to just keep kissing her when he'd been wanting to for ages and he hadn't ever felt like the time was right or she'd be into it — there was always an excuse, but there isn't, anymore. So now he wants them to go for it.

Sawyer shrugs a little at his stammering. "Probably both," she agrees. She bites the inside of her lip a moment then continues. "I was always afraid if I said something it would make things weird between us and you were my best friend here." Granted, she's not great at pushing herself outside of her comfort zone and making friends. Sawyer has always been content with one good friend. "Now...I figure if I screw things up really badly between us, I can avoid you for the rest of your time here." She says it with a bit of a smirk and a lift of her eyebrows. "So on a scale from one to ten, how badly have I screwed things up between us and do I need to start avoiding now or later?" She bites the inside of her lip again, breath held as she waits for him to answer. Butterflies are starting a riot inside of her belly and she's pretty sure she's going to be sick because she wants this all to be good. She wants this with the kissing and the holding, but only if he wants it too. He can probably feel her trembling ever so slightly with nerves.

Unresolved would be bad. She wants to resolve something between them before he has to go back. A month is a lot of time.

Yes. Going for it is her preference as well, and that's probably broadcast in the way she kisses him, deepening the soft kiss just a little, pressing against him a little more, fingers kneading at his neck as she kisses him.

Stiles looks down, feeling a little guilty for that. That is his fault. He was so wrapped up in Malia for so long and then after their breakup, he'd turned himself so inward that she could've said it directly and he still wouldn't have noticed that she was into him. No wonder she felt intimidated by the idea of telling him, worrying that it would ruin the friendship. He hadn't really given her any reason not to have that concern.

But as she continues, he looks back up at her and huffs a little laugh. "Can I go with zero? You haven't screwed it up. At all," he promises. "We're good, we're totally good, because I was pretty sure that me doing something like this was what was going to screw things up and I'd be avoiding you," he explains, looking back at her sheepishly.

But apparently that's a moot point now because they're actually on the same page and they're kissing and Stiles is just so glad that everything is good and this isn't ending in a huge fight and the end of a friendship. Breaking from it to take a breath, Stiles presses his forehead against hers. "I'm still going to have to go back to school next semester...does that screw everything up?"

Fault is a strong word. The timing wasn't right for him, and she can't blame him for that. Well, she probably could, but it wouldn't be very productive to starting a new relationship. That doesn't mean that she's not going to tease him when she gets the chance.

His admission gets a surprised look out of her that morphs into rolling her eyes at him. "You're so dumb, aren't you?" She says it fondly though. They've both been dumb, or maybe they'd just been waiting for this moment. In any case, this seems right and things never did back then. Sawyer had felt like there were moments, but they'd disappeared as fast as they'd come along.

Such a moot point. No fighting and no ending of the friendship, at least that seems to be the case and Sawyer is grateful for it. She swallows hard at his question. "I've been trying to forget about that since you showed up on my door," she answers him honestly. There's a pause where she closes her eyes and breathes him in, lying against him, his forehead pressed to hers. She finally opens her eyes and looks up at him. "Not if we don't want it to. There's this fancy new thing called Skype and it's not that far a drive if I want to come visit."
