Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
Have fun!

I. Roadtrip

1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.

II. Cuddles

1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!

III. Hurt/Comfort

1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.

IV. Texts from Last Night

1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen

V. Intimacy

1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.

VI. SENTINEL GUIDE
Prompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?

oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?

oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.

oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.

005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.

oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.

oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.

oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!

Other Options

Dean hadn't actually thought that he could be friends with a girl. It's that he doesn't think Kara is beautiful, but she'd seen right through his bullshit and she'd been involved with some other guy. He'd respected her boundaries and now he's glad that he didn't screw things up by sleeping with her. She's the best friend he's ever had (besides Sammy).

The crappy motel rooms build character and Sam's snoring is like white noise to Dean at this point (he can't sleep when Sam isn't there snoring; Kara is one of the few people he's confessed this to one drunk night). They'd had another drunk talk (well, Dean was drunk) about Kara breaking up with Mon-El (he'd called him an asshat and offered to beat him within an inch of his life) and he'd told Kara that she was welcome to join him and Sammich any time she wanted (which had led to the many nights in crappy motel rooms). Oh, and he's not asleep when she says that. At first, he is frozen, not sure if he's supposed to comment or let her rant in peace, but when she gets out of bed, he sits up and reaches out, grabbing her wrist.

"You're not going to die alone, Kara. You've got me. You've got Sammich. I'll make him dress up in a onesie and babble if you want."

Kara's just about to start toward the door so that she can leave the brothers Winchester in peace when she feels him grabbing her arm. It takes an actual conscious effort — and probably one of the most awkward sounds Kara's ever made in her life — to keep from screaming with the unexpectedness of it, because she's aware that Sam is sleeping, still, whether Dean is or not.

"Don't do that!" she gasps, her heart racing as she turns to face him again. "I thought you were sleeping, you just scared the crap out of me."

And it shows, because now that the initial shock has passed, Kara sinks back onto the mattress for a moment because her knees are wobbling and the whole lot of her is shaking as she tries to remind her body to catch up with the realization her brain has already made: it's just Dean; she's fine. For a few moments, she's panting to catch her breath and regain her composure, but once she has, she looks back at Dean and an amused incredulity crosses her expression in the dark.

"...did you just say you'd dress your brother up in a onesie and make him make baby noises at me?" she laughs.
dudeimbatman: (Yes that! [tongue porn])

Dean actually winces at the sound Kara makes. Thankfully, Sam sleeps pretty solid. He didn't mean to scare her, but that much probably goes without saying. "Figured you needed a jolt," he jokes with her.

Once he sees how rattled it made her, he scoots over a bit, putting both his hands on her arms and rubbing a little, squeezing her to reassure her that it's okay. Oh, he sees that look and that's sort of what he was going for.

Dean shrugs a little. "Come on. We both know he's a giant baby anyway."

Dean doesn't necessarily seem like the type of person that Kara would get along with, but he is. He's silly when the mood calls for it, but he's also genuinely a good guy, whether he's willing to admit it or not. Sometimes, Kara thinks he's too hard on himself and she tends to, in those moments, remind him of times like this, when he's noticed that it's taking her a second to recover from the startle he'd given her and he moves closer to try to help her calm down.

"Yeah, well, at least I'm not thinking about my empty womb, anymore. You know, you're lucky you didn't make me wet myself, God, Dean," she complains, swatting a hand at one of his, playfully. What she doesn't do, however, is pull away, because his tactile reassurances do genuinely make her feel better.

Her eyes roll a little and she looks over at the other bed briefly before returning her gaze to Dean. "...somehow, in spite of the fact that I could totally carry him around like that, I feel like babying a six plus foot tall man in a onesie is not going to be quite the same thing. I appreciate the sentiment though," she says sounding somehow equal parts endeared and exasperated.

He won't ever believe, but Dean is a good guy and he is too hard on himself. Kara certainly doesn't seem the type of girl that he'd get along with, and yet...Well, he may not be a good guy, but he's not an asshole either. Besides, he likes being close to Kara. It's not as if Dean actually touches anyone when sex or punching someone isn't involved.

He cringes at her words. "Can we not say 'empty womb'?" He's totally okay with talking about her wetting herself though. "That would have been narley. Awesome and gross," he grins at her, still rubbing her shoulders and neck.

"Hey, don't talk bad about my baby," Dean jokes. "Nah, he's a sasquatch. I get it." He hears that exasperation and slides his hands down her arms. "Come on. Let's go talk out in the Impala." He's wearing a tee shirt and a pair of sweatpants but his feet are bare and he's just going to let them stay that way. He stands up, tugging her hand to pull her along despite the fact that he knows if she didn't want to go with him, he couldn't make her. "Also, if you ever carry Sam like that, I'm taking a picture."

"Well, it is," she mumbles indignantly, heaving a long suffering sigh that doesn't match the ghost of a smile on her face at the comment he makes with regard to her peeing herself. Of course that part's funny to him. Of course it is.

When Dean suggests they go out to the car, Kara glances back in the direction of Sam's bed. Dean's probably right. The longer they try to talk in here, the more likely they are to wake him and Kara does not want to be present for that particular argument. It isn't like the two of them manage to get much sleep anyway, not in their line of work. Kara doesn't, either, usually. Usually, being the key word. She can't protect National City when she's all over the country with Dean, but that's fine. Mon-El wants to be a hero so bad, let him be the hero for a while. See how well he does without her.

Her stomach knots and she gets to her feet again, following Dean toward the door and tries to keep at bay the discomfort that comes from the sudden direct thought of Mon-El. Once they've gotten outside, Kara takes a deep breath in through her nose, letting it out slowly out of her mouth. She does not need Mon-El to have the life she wants, it just might take a little bit longer, that's all. She's fine. She's fine. "Keep it up, I'll carry you around like that," she quips as she slides into the passenger seat of the car, leaning heavily back against the seat before closing the door behind herself.

Peeing oneself is always funny when you're not the one doing the peeing! She has to realize that by now.

He just figures they could use a little more privacy. She seems like she's in the mood for a serious talk. That requires privacy and probably some whiskey for him. Both can be had in the car. No, they don't' get much sleep and Dean has always hated waking Sam up if he didn't have to. Yeah, Mon-El is an asswipe. He can do Kara's job for a while.

He hates that she's upset. One of these days it won't upset her. He knows that from experience. Dean might be shit at relationships, but he's been in a couple before. They've all turned out horrible, but that doesn't change that he can sympathize with her. He gets in the driver's side of the car and pulls one leg up, turning to look at her. The Impala has a bench seat that's good for lots of things. Late night talks are one of them. "Keep making promises, Sweetheart. One of these days I'm gonna call you on it," he teases her.

Dean is quiet for a moment, watching Kara. "Okay, Darling. What's all this about empty wombs and dying alone? Yeah, I can say it. You can't."

Which makes total sense as Dean doesn't have a womb.

Kara, on the other hand, has never been in a serious relationship before now. Well. Before then. Mon-El had been the first real relationship she'd been in. Mon-El had been the first man she'd fallen in love with. Maybe it's her own fault for getting ahead of herself by picturing what her future could have looked like.

It probably is her own fault for losing herself in it, but that sort of thing comes with the territory of no experience in something at all. When she first started being Supergirl, Kara made plenty of mistakes. This is no different, it just hurts in a way that she didn't think she could ever feel for someone who wasn't family.

A weak smile crosses her expression when he calls her the pet name in passing and it falls away again almost immediately when he goes on. Another soft sigh escapes her and this is, she realizes, so, so much easier when he's wasted. "You haven't had nearly enough to drink for us to have this conversation, Dean," she says, frowning. "I just...let myself think that he was going to be the one because he said he loved me; he literally gave up being royalty for me...I just thought that—" she sighs again. "I don't know, if I couldn't make it work with Mon-El, then I have to start all over again and it just...it's frustrating. I had this whole...I don't know, plan for myself and now I have to start over and it's..." Kara trails off and frowns, closing her eyes in a slow blink and shaking her head.

"I just want more in my life. Supergirl is great, but I don't want to just be Supergirl."
dudeimbatman: (Okay what)

[personal profile] dudeimbatman 2017-04-07 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
No, Kara is just young and she hasn't had her heart broken before. She hasn't had her dreams crushed. It's a good thing that she still dreams of her future. Dean still dreamed about his future when he was her age. Now, he knows he'll be lucky if he has a future.

Dean isn't sure there's a handbook for relationships. He knows he screwed both of his up and he's beginning to believe that he can't have a relationship with the life he lives. Lisa had died because of his life. Cassie had nearly died. He doesn't want to put anyone else he loves in danger. There are a hundred ways to hurt for people. Unfortunately, if Kara lives long enough, she'll probably figure the out.

He smirks at her words then digs under the front seat and drags a bottle of whiskey out from there, uncaps it and takes a long swig, then holds it out to Kara. He knows she cna't get drunk, but that doesn't mean she won't want to partake with him. Sometimes the act of drinking is soothing. He sighs a little and pinches the bridge of his nose, rubbing his forehead before he speaks. "Kara, I'll mention again that he's an asswipe and it's his loss, but words are easy. Actions are harder. Maybe he was looking for an excuse to get out of the whole royalty thing." That probably doesn't make her feel better, but Dean is more interested in telling her the truth than anything.

He takes another swig of the whiskey and nods. "That I totally get." He's had the same thoughts about being a hunter.

Kara shakes her head and gently waves off the offer. She can't get drunk, but whiskey has a nasty bite that isn't really worth it, in her opinion, if you can't feel it. If he'd offered her a bottle of red wine, she'd have downed the whole thing in one swig, though. Probably about the last thing she wants to hear is that the one thing that she thought really showed Mon-El had loved her might have also been a lie, and he'd told her many.

Her face falls as she looks back over at Dean, slack-jawed with unpleasant surprise at the potential that Dean could actually be right about that. "That is not helpful," she finally says a moment later, frowning. It is, but she's sure he knows what she means. Helpful, but not at all what she wants to hear.

"Yeah?" she asks, slightly comforted by the fact that she's not the only one. Sometimes she wishes she could ask Clark if he gets tired; if sometimes he might want more than Superman, but she always chickens out. She's supposed to be the older one. She's supposed to be the one who keeps him safe and takes care of him and her trip didn't work out that way. He grew up without her. He doesn't need her. She can't quite let go of the age difference being in her favor, even when it isn't, so asking him for advice feels wrong. Besides...she has a feeling he'd tell her that he doesn't; that Superman is everything he's ever wanted to be. "You feel like that about the hunting?"

Kara hates, by the way, that he calls it hunting because it sounds so sinister — so...Cadmus...— that way, but it is what it is. "Like maybe you want something more?" She sits up a little straighter. Dean has almost twenty years on her Earth age and he's given up his life to help people, not unlike she pretty much has. She just thought that with Mon-El, who had also started the hero thing, she could have the best of both worlds. She'd been wrong. But maybe it won't be so bad getting a little advice from Dean. He's more weathered when it comes to this sort of life; he's been doing it forever. Even if they were the same age, he'd have been doing it much, much longer, because she's only just begun. "What would you want your life to be like? I mean, if you didn't...know what you know about the world and if you weren't wired to protect people?"
dudeimbatman: (Lemme think)

[personal profile] dudeimbatman 2017-04-07 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
More for Dean to drink and the sooner he'll be properly wasted for this conversation. Red wine. He'll have to remember that. He'll start keeping some of it for her. He knows that, but he also thinks that she'd rather know the truth than be told a lie.

He shrugs at little and, while his body language is casual, his expression is sympathetic. "Truth isn't always helpful." Or what you want to hear.

He takes a deep breath and lets out a world-weary sigh. He takes another swig of whiskey because no, he is not drunk enough for this conversation. He rests his head back on the headrest of the seat. "We don't tell Sammy about this conversation." He points between himself and her. Sam has enough worries without worrying about whether Dean is tired of this life, about whether Dean wants more from this life. His relationship with Sam is a typical sibling relationship in a lot of ways, but it's also very paternal. For the most part, Dean raised Sam and he hides things like this from Sam, or at least he tries. In that way, he also understands Kara's feelings for Clark, her need to protect him, to be the older one. "I'm freaking exhausted. I'm pretty sure I have been for the last twenty years."

He's not sure what else he'd call it. It's hunting. Sometimes, they can put spirits to rest, but most of the time they're hunting something ugly in an attempt to save innocent people. If he could sit them down with a milkshake and a basket of fries and talk them into not killing people, he would. He swirls the whiskey in the bottle, eyes fixed on the dash of the Impala; he nods at Kara's words. "I used to figured I'd die too young to ever have anything else, you know? Go out in a blaze of glory." Obviously, for a lot of reasons, that's not what's in store for Dean. He's lived to be middle aged. Hell in a little over a decade, he'll be the same age his dad was when he died. He scrubs a hand over his head. "Different world. Different life...I guess I'd have that picket fence you talked about. Dog in the backyard. Couple of kids running around. Wife...but I draw the line at a mini fan," he tells her, turning to look at her, a grin on his face. He takes a swig of the whiskey. "Impala is a damn good family car."

It doesn't have seatbelts or airbags, but it's where Dean grew up and he insists it's a family car.

That deep breath and the sign that follows it tells Kara before he even says it aloud that he's going to want to, for his own peace of mind, remind her that this discussion stays between them. When things get really deep, he tends to say that. So Kara crosses her heart with her first finger and nods. "Totally between us," she promises.

Her eyes move to the bottle, watching the subtle movement of it and hearing the way the liquid sloshes around inside. Kara's head leans back against the seat and she pulls one of her legs up, bent at the knee, and wraps her arms around it. Sometimes she forgets how human the Winchesters are. Sometimes, until Dean says something like that, she forgets how breakable her best friend is and how any hunt could be his last. She can't say the same for herself. Kara's damn near indestructible and a part of her wonders absently for a moment if Winn couldn't come up with some kind of suits for Sam and Dean to wear, not too unlike the one he made for Jimmy. Which, by the way, she's still upset about. Not that it matters right now.

She smiles a little, weakly, as he describes a different life the way he'd like to see it. She's a little surprised about the mention of the dog, but she's seen him with kids. It doesn't surprise her at all that he wishes he had them. A little snort escapes her at the mention of the van. "I mean...it kind of isn't, anymore, but I'll let that slide because I'm pretty sure your wife would still buy a minivan. I figure you'd marry the kind of woman who would do it just to spite you because you make the cutest face when you're trying really hard not to look mad," she says playfully, sighing softly.

"...do you ever think about quitting? Letting other hunters do it?" Kara asks, although she's pretty sure she already knows the answer. Maybe he's thought about it, but nothing he's probably seriously considered. She knows the feeling. Although, she's Kryptonian. It takes a lot to take her down and if she did have children, she imagines they'd be equally as durable, or at least close to it. They certainly wouldn't have to worry too much about her dying on them. "I always wanted a puppy. Jeremiah and Eliza always said no. ...and now I live by myself but I'm never home enough and pet deposits and blah," she sighs. "But kids, though...for kids, I'd change. I'd give it up for a while, I really would..."

Dean is bright enough to know that Sam knows Dean's life isn't idyllic. Hell, Sam has been there for most of it. He knows that Sam knows Dean is tired of this life, that Dean wishes for more. He also knows that Dean won't ever stop doing this job because this job saves people. However, despite all of this, he doesn't want Sam to have to hear the words. He doesn't want to rub it in Sam's face because that's the deal. They both pretend to be fucking happy as pie with the life they've got.

The Winchesters have died more times than Dean can count on one hand. Dean is well aware that it's going to stick at some point. He's tougher than a lot of humans, but it's through sheer will power and stubbornness, not through any sort of special power. Honestly, Kara's indestructibleness is a part of what makes Dean comfortable having her around. Sure, she can probably be possessed by a demon (and that would be a damn mess and a half) but she can't be killed by any means that Dean knows. That makes her 'safe' to be in his world, as safe as anyone can be. Is it a cool suit, Kara? Because if it's not a cool suit, Dean is totally not wearing it. He has his priorities.

They'd had a dog once for a little while. They hadn't been able to keep it and to this day, Dean will argue that it was Sammy's dog, but he'd liked the dog too. Besides, a dog represents all the things that he and Sam couldn't have when they were growing up like a stable home with a backyard. Dean smirks at Kara. "Long as she doesn't trade my baby in, she can drive whatever she wants." Lisa had had a very sensible, very boring sedan. Kara is exactly right about the kind of woman Dean would marry. He likes strong women with a little fire. HIs mother might have died when he was very young, but he's met her a few times since, often enough to know that she'd had her influence on him. "And I am damn adorable all the time," he points out.

She already knows the answer. Dean already knows the answer despite knowing that there's a big part of him that wishes he could quit. "Other hunters fuck it up," he says simply. "Not all the time but...besides, there aren't many of us left." He's thought about quitting far more than he'd like to admit but he always comes to the same conclusion: he can't quit. There are people in the world that get to have perfect live and then there's Winchesters. He grins at Kara, a sign that he's about to say something ridiculous because her desires are far too reflective of his own. "You can share Sammy with me. He's already mostly housebroken." And clearly, a giant puppy. He sobers a little. "You ought to do it. Have kids. Bet you'd have cute ones. Let Mon-ass take over for a while. No one wants him to reproduce anyway."

In response to his stance on the car and how adorable he is, Kara laughs a little weakly and rolls her eyes, smiling over at him in a way that shows she is genuinely amused even though she is not genuinely happy. She nods a little when he goes on to answer her question because that sounds about the way she thought he'd respond to her. They're alike in that way. It's why she hates that Jimmy's doing the whole Guardian thing and the reason she's antsy about Mon-El trying on the heroic role in place of the princely one. Kara thinks the only person who can do it right is Kara. Dean and Sam aren't too different in that respect. Given that, it's kind of a miracle that they all get along, really, since they met while he was on a hunt and she was trying to save National City from the very same threat.

"Yeah...but again," she points out with a playfulness that's still a little flatter than she'd like because she's in a more sullen mood than she's usually in when she makes witty cracks back to him, "he's gigantic and it's not the same. You know what kind of deposit I'd have to pay for a puppy that big? I might as well just pay double my rent right now," she adds with a little lopsided smirk.

Dean sobers, though, when he says that she should have kids. A huff where a laugh would've been if she was feeling more cheerful escapes her at the nickname for Mon-El and the fact that he shouldn't reproduce. "...who'm I going to have kids with? See, this is right where we started, Dean, I thought I was on a path to something and now I have to start all over. Even if I met someone like tonight, we'd have to date for a while and then be engaged and then get married, like...by the time I get through all that, what if I'm too old and I can't? I don't know how long Kryptonians remain fertile. My mom died before I got to the point in my life when that was a question worth asking and somehow asking a hologram of her feels messed up," she sighs. "I'd have to do it by myself and that's fine and everything, like I wouldn't mind that, but it takes two."

Suddenly, she stops and sits up a little more, looking over at him. "You," she says. "You could help me! You're strong and brave and handsome. You've got good genes," she points out, her face brightening suddenly. "And we're already friends, it's kind of perfect! I wouldn't have to go through the whole parade of red tape to go through a sperm bank or an adoption agency..."

He'll take any sort of amusement from her. Sometimes, in their lives, it's all they have. They are alike in that way and, in all honesty, Dean isn't sure he could truly be friends with someone who wasn't like that. Yeah, it probably means more head butting, but it also means they have an understanding. Dean wants everyone to be able to live a damn idyllic life, but he knows that means other people (like him and Sam and Kara) can't.

Dean chuckles a little. "The cost of feeding him alone," he grins, though it's Dean that constantly eats rather than Sam. "You'll just have to visit more often. He'll tell you doesn't like his belly scratched but..." And he gets tickled at the idea of trying to scratch Sam's belly and chuckles for just a moment.

See, that's something that Dean doesn't have an answer for. "Sweetheart...you're asking the wrong person when it comes to dating advice." He's even less qualified to tell her anything about domestic life, he thinks. "I can tell you how to get laid, but if you actually want to date..."

Her change in demeanor throws him off a little, warns him and his eyes narrow a little. "You want....I mean...you're gorgeous, but...we're friends. You sure you want...I guess we could just grab another hotel room." He's not completely understanding what she's saying.

A huff of amusement escapes Kara in spite of her mood and she nods. "Yeah, he's not fooling anyone," she jokes back, looking over at Dean and rolling her eyes playfully. These are the sorts of things that they don't mind saying when Sam can hear them, so it feels like it's okay to say when he can't. He gets his good shots in, now and again, as well. So, fair is fair.

He doesn't seem to have understood where she had been going with her train of thought, but it's simple to see that he's tuned into the pivot she's made. Though, admittedly, he's on the wrong track and the way her face scrunches with a mixture of amusement and incredulity shows it. "No, D—I'm not trying to sleep with you," she laughs. But then she stops laughing just as quickly as she started. "Unless you think that's more effective on a first try. Is it more effective on a first try than getting a doctor and insemination involved?"

Here's the thing: Dean is human. So there's literally no precedent for this. At least, not to Kara's knowledge. She can't even ask Clark because even if he and Lois ever decided to have kids, their situations would be steeped in a completely separate set of issues and concerns.

...focus.

"Okay, so...one, I know we're friends. Like, I wouldn't ask this of Sam, even though we're sort of friends; this is important. Two, I do not want to conceive a baby in another crusty room in this place, no. Like...no. Just..." she shakes her head. "No. Three, it isn't about getting laid. ...I want kids. But, as an alien both literally and figuratively, I legally can't do that by myself on this planet. So...will you help me?"

Oh Dean is constantly razzing Sam with stuff like this. Sam razzes him back; it's a massive part of their relationship and the way they're both most comfortable expressing affection. As Kara has become a part of their little gang, at least part time, it's only fitting that she do the same. If she and Dean are going to have a child together, she'll only become more entrenched in this weird sort of relationship he and Sam have.

No, he's not entirely on the same track as she is, but he's got the gist of what she wants. Procreation isn't something Dean has worried much about. In fact, his entire adult (ish) life, he's focused on not procreating so bear with him while he tries to figure this out. His first instinct is to be offended (and a little hurt) by the way she's laughing, but he quickly reminds himself that this is Kara, his best friend. He doesn't want to sleep with her anyway (right?). He smirks at her question. "The hell would I know? I'e spent the last twenty some odd years trying not to get someone pregnant. YOur way is probably better."

And most of the time Dean forgets that Kara isn't human because she is so human ninty-nine percent of the time. He's not thinking about the precedent they'd be setting; he's way too involved in the idea of having kids and being a father and...would Kara want him around the kid? Would he be a father, or just some guy that comes in and out? Some friend of Kara's?

They've got a lot to talk about if this is something Kara really wants to do.

Dean's brow is furrowed as Kara talks and while he is listening, his mind is also completely overwhelmed with questions and thoughts. "Would I--I mean, would you want me to be a dad or just 'Mom's friend that comes through town sometimes'?"

Because in so many ways, Dean had an absent father and while he honestly believes John did the best he could, he also knows that he wasn't the dad he should have been.

Another laugh escapes her followed by a thoughtful facial shrug. "Okay, that's fair. I really should already have known that," she agrees easily. And she should've. Dean's line of work isn't exactly kid friendly and he's never given her any indication that he's ever wanted his life to be. It doesn't occur to her to equate that with the fact that he would have no freaking idea how to answer her question, the fact that he's human completely not withstanding, given the circumstances.

Her eyebrows lift, a little bit surprised at his question. "No?" she asks more than says, if only because she'd thought that she'd made herself pretty clear already since she'd been more focused on how to get children without Mon-El than Mon-El himself, but she realizes a little belatedly that Dean's a man and their brains don't necessarily process thoughts in the same way, so it's completely possible that he missed the nuance there because his focus had been emotionally supporting his friend when she'd been complaining.

Realizing it's been a few seconds of silence since the original response, Kara quickly continues. "I mean, no...I...if you want to? I won't say you can't, but no, that wasn't what I was fishing for...I'm less looking for a parenting partner and more looking for sperm," she says bluntly, her face going pink with embarrassment at having to spell it out just to avoid any additional discomfort stemming from her not being clear and him, therefore, not being on the same page. "...which is a thing I can't...you know that. Never...never mind. Should I...?" she asks, realizing how awkward she's already actually made this whole conversation, her question trailing off as she points vaguely...away.

No, and in all honesty, his work might not ever be kid friendly, but with the right motivation, he could definitely make sure he's around more. He tried quitting the whole hunting thing once and being there for Lisa and Ben. He knows now that won't ever work. This life doesn't let you go that easily, but he thinks he can make this life work with kids and some sort of family, if Kara is willing to let him try.

A frown, something not satisfied and not agreeable, sets on his face when she says no. He clears his throat, smirking but equally as embarrassed as Kara at such a frank discussion. "Pretty sure you're the only chick to ever tell me that," he jokes, trying to ease the tension between them. When she makes gestures to ask if she should leave, he shakes his head and takes a long swig of whiskey. "No. I mean...if this is something you really want to do, we've got a lot to talk about."

He takes a deep breath, holding it a moment before letting it out in a sigh. "My dad was gone a lot. Weeks at a time sometimes and I know the situation is way different. You'd be a real mom for one, but...I don't want my kid to grow up without a dad. I mean....maybe I won't be the greatest and I'll probably make a shit ton of mistakes, like saying shit in front of him or her--and I can't be there all the time. I tried that and I either fight the monsters that are out there, or they come looking for me. I'd like to be around a lot though. Have my own room, go to science fairs and shit.I'll give you as much money as I can to take care of the kid. I don't want to just get in on the fun shit and I actually know how to change diapers. Sammy wasn't always house broken. If I'm gonna do this, I wanna do it at least halfway right."

A weak huff of amusement escapes her at his joke and she shrugs. "Pretty sure I'm the only chick who does a lot of the things I do, so what's one more thing?" she jokes back, finally reaching for the whiskey bottle to take a drink with him once he's knocked back a swig of his own. Why not? She might as well. She'll metabolize it in a few minutes, anyway.

Kara leans back a little against the seat and looks over at him with sincere interest. One thing Dean and Kara don't do: talk about their dead parents. They just don't do it. Sometimes they talk about Kara's adoptive parents or the planet she came from. Sometimes Dean talks about when he was a kid or a teenager, but they don't bring up their parents. She'd always known why she hadn't. Now she knows why he hadn't. The fact that his mother's not mentioned at all suggests to Kara that she's dead and his father worked; probably hunted. It makes her wonder briefly and absently whether that's why Dean does this in the first place.

By the time he finishes his schpiel and Kara hands him back the bottle of whiskey, a small, endeared sort of smile is on her face. What? The idea of him changing Sam's diapers reminds her of when Krypton was still alive and well and she would babysit Clark for his parents; she changed her fair share of diapers, too. "Do you want the kid to know that you're their dad? Or do you want to be the cool uncle or, whatever, Mommy's friend?" she asks, mostly to clarify that she's understanding what he's saying. She's clear on the fact that he wants a part in the child's life and Kara's fine with that and has said as much. She wants to make sure she's understanding if he wants the kid to call him Daddy and whether they then need to figure out how to explain their connection or lack thereof to a child someday who will be surrounded by people whose parents love each other in a way very different to that of the relationship she and Dean share.

He bobs his head to the side, a gesture of agreement. She is the only woman around who does a lot of the things that she does. She's the only woman that Dean has ever had a friendship (and just a friendship) with. He lets her take the bottle easily, a little surprised she wants it, but this conversation certainly seems to warrant it.

There's no reason to talk about their dead parents. They can't change the fact that they're dead, and talking about it just hurts, or at least it hurts Dean. He assumes it hurts Kara as well. One day, he'll tell her about Mary and John, mostly because he thinks she should probably know if they're going to have a kid together. He'll ask about her parents, invite her to tell him about them if she wants, but he won't push her. John is one hundred percent the reason he started this; it's still part of the reason he does this, but now it's more because the world needs this, and he can do this. He can leave the world a better place than he found it; he can save people. He has to hunt.

He takes a smaller sip of the whiskey when she hands it back, leaving it loose in his hand so she can take it again if she wants, turning a little more to face Kara, one foot drawn up into the seat, the other lazing toward her side of the car. "I think I'd make a half decent dad," he says. "Yeah. I'd like to be Dad." He rubs at the back of his neck, scrubbing a hand over his hair, too short to really mess up. Yeah, they'll probably have to explain their different relationship to a kid, but Dean thinks it's worth to for a child to know he (or she) has two parents who love him, who love each other, even if it's not in the way that other kids' parents love each other.

His brow furrows a little. "That okay? Besides, kid will already have a dorky uncle. I think that fills the uncle quota."

"I think you'd make a great dad," Kara counters without missing a beat. It surprises her that he wants to be Dad, but it doesn't surprise her at the same time; he's just...good with kids. Then again, he raised Sam, so it wouldn't have been shocking for him to decide he'd already done his time parenting. She wonders if she'd want children of her own if she'd gotten to Earth in time to raise Clark as planned...

She smiles though, and nods when Dean asks if that'd be okay. "Yeah," she breathes back, sounding almost as though she's surprised he even has to ask. It does make sense, but still.

"...how should we go about it? I mean, I could...I can't really go to like...a regular doctor. I mean, I could, but I can't let them take my blood, so I guess I kind of can't..." she's babbling a little, mostly to herself as she tries to work out her thoughts into something that someone other that Kara can understand. "There's medical staff at the DEO, but I can't really take you...you...are not actually supposed to know about the DEO. Please do not tell anyone I just mentioned it, it's not a thing. Pretend it isn't a thing," she says quickly, eyes widening. There are things she's sure that Dean has to hide from her and the DEO is one thing she's supposed to hide from him; from everyone, because it's especially difficult to explain and, well. It's supposed to be a secret. The president knows about it, but that's kind of..it.

And now, she's blabbed to a civilian. Her best friend, but still.

"Will it be weird if we...?" she starts and then trails off and shakes her head. "Yeah, no, it would be weird. And I could accidentally break you, which would be decidedly bad..." She's only ever actually slept with Mon-El. Lots and lots and lots of times, but Mon-El is like her. She could far too easily snap Dean like a twig if she got too rough without realizing that it's too rough, given that Mon-El is her only frame of reference. "...oh man, this is going to be complicated..." For that, she has the grace to look apologetic, but not so much grace that she fails to slip in the puppy eyes so that he won't be mad that she's making this so muddy before he's even officially said he'll help her out.

Once upon a time Dean would have argued that he didn't like kids, but that's not true. It's never been true. He just hadn't been ready to be a dad for so long, but the older he gets the more he realizes he wants a kid. He doesn't want ot be forgotten when he's dead, at least not right away."Course I would," Dean grunts, but it's obvious to anyone that knows him he's pleased that she thinks he'd make a good dad.

While Dean may want to be a dad (if they're going to do this thing) he does worry that he wouldn't be good at it. After all, he thinks Sam turned out pretty great, but in a lot of ways, he'd still be a first time dad.

As for how they ought to go about it...the babble has Dean giving her a confused, wide-eyed look. "Not a thing," he finally says when she's ended the babble. Dean is good at keeping secrets. He can keep Kara's as well.

HIs eyebrows shoot up to his hairline when she says she could accidentally break him. He rubs his hand over his face at the puppy eyes. "Yeah, it'll probably be complicated. We're trying to have a kid." He takes a deep breath. "Promise this won't be weird afterwards and I'll take a vacation. We'll go somewhere nice and...try to have a kid."

A sigh escapes her because he's pointing out the obvious and she missed, originally, the part where she'd been doing the same. Of course things were going to get complicated when they're going to try to create life together. It's not the same as going out and tackling a baddie together. This is totally in a separate ballpark entirely from their usual activities. But beyond the obvious complication that comes with what she's asking of him, there is also the fact that she could legitimately hurt him in the act of it and that's the last thing she wants to do. Kara chews her bottom lip a little thoughtfully as she looks back at him and he takes a deep breath. He still hasn't technically said yes, but he hasn't said no and he sounds like he's yes-adjacent.

But then he goes on and Kara's face lights up with pleasant surprise. Before she can stop herself, she's leaning over and throwing her arms around him and hugging him probably harder and tighter than she means to; almost definitely than she ever has in the past.

"I promise, I swear. I swear it won't be weird!" she insists, letting go of him abruptly and realizing she was probably squishing him. "Oh, sorry. Sorry, sorry, oh my God. I promise it won't be weird, I won't let it get weird," she goes on quickly, looking him in the eye. "And we don't have to do it right now, or even next week or next year, I just...I mean, obviously, I would rather sooner, um, than later, but...you know, life gets in the way and Supergirl gets busy and so do the Winchesters and...I um...you know, there's no rush. But I mean, before I'm thirty. Uh, would be good. I think. ...right?"

It's possible that there will be a lot of pointing out the obvious. It's better than misunderstandings, right? He's not worried about Kara hurting him. He's been to Hell, tortured for seven years. Pain is something that Dean is used to by now. Hell, it might even find it's something that turns him on. If she accidentally breaks something, at least it'll be the most pleasurable break he's ever incurred. While Kara is thinking about breaking Dean, Dean is contemplating that he'll eventually have to tell Sammy. He's honestly not sure whether to tell him sooner or later, waiting until Kara is actually pregnant, and that's going to be weird: trying to get someone pregnant, not bagging it.

The hug takes him by surprise. He chuckles, hugging her in return, rubbing her back a little. He doesn't say anything because yeah, it's a little tighter and harder than usual, but it didn't hurt, not really.

The babbling is actually pretty adorable. Of course, it makes him worry that things are going to be weird, but if this is something the both of them want, they'll find a way to cope with it. "Yeah. Sooner is better. We don't have anything on the horizon right now. It's a good time, but let me know when and whether you want to go somewhere or stay at your place. I'll meet you where ever."

If they wait, Dean thinks they'll end up chickening out because regardless of how 'not weird' things are afterwards, it's going to change things forever. Change is scary and now that Dean is thinking about an actual kid of his, he doesn't want either one of them to change their minds.
