Open Post 2016 2017 Edition

☻Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
☻Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
☻Have fun!

I. Roadtrip
1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.
II. Cuddles1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!
III. Hurt/Comfort1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
IV. Texts from Last Night1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen
V. Intimacy1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.
VI. SENTINEL GUIDEPrompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?
oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?
oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.
oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.
005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.
oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.
oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.
oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!
Other Options
Don't like any of the above? Here are some other options:1. Picture Prompt: go here or any of your other favorite picture sites. Leave me a few pictures and I'll set something up.
2. Pick a prompt from this prompt tumblr or try googling OTP prompts
3. Insomnia! One or both of you can't sleep. Be awake together.
4. Leave me a scenario, lyrics, a word or a quote

She takes his hand and Stiles shifts his hand in her grasp to thread his fingers through hers, because he likes the feel of it better, and he follows her into the living room, letting her push him down on the couch. He grins a little, even, in spite of himself, when she curls up beside him. Stiles drapes an arm around her shoulders and pulls her against himself.
"I like this better, too," he admits.
no subject
The way he threads their fingers makes her smile a little, ducking her head because she likes the way it feels better as well. Of course that makes her teary. Bear with her, Stiles. She's a mess of emotions right now. She curls up into him a little like a cat, relaxing at the feel of him, releasing a breath that she hadn't been exactly holding, but she realizes right now that it's easier to breathe with Stiles.
"That's fortunate because I'm going to need you to stay right here for...how long are you back for?" she says it in a teasing voice then sobers a little. "Seriously though. This is the best I've felt in two months."
She's definitely not in the mindset to take anyone for granted right now.
no subject
And honestly, he means to be. He'll have to spend time with his dad, that's obvious. He'll probably catch up with Lydia and Scott when they come home, too, but Stiles already had it in his mind that if Sawyer was willing to let him back into her life after being a terrible friend, then he wasn't going to waste the break off on his own or doing to many other things. While he has no illusion that he's going to spend the break wooing her into the relationship he was too stupid to realize he wanted in high school, he does intend, at least, to make up for lost time.
Stiles strokes her hair and leans his head down to rest against hers. "Tell you what, I'm all yours tonight. All nighter, if you want. Anything you want, I'm here for you tonight, Sawyer." He realizes a second too late that he's presuming she doesn't already have plans and suddenly he backpedals. "I mean, unless you already had something you were doing, in which case, I'm all yours until the thing."
no subject
She won't begrudge him doing any of those things. The selfish part of her might want to monopolize all of his time, but she knows that he needs to spend time with his dad, with Lydia and with Scott. Particularly knowing how short time can be, she won't begrudge him that. Making up for lost time is a good endeavor, one she definitely supports. As for the wooing, she's always been half in love with him, something more than a crush and less than hopeless.
"I think you just said slumber party." He probably can't see the grateful smile that curves her lips, but he can probably hear it. "That fits in well with my plans. I was going to warm up a church lady made lasagna and crawl into my blanket nest then watch Netflix until I fell asleep. It's a glamourous evening, but you're invited."
no subject
Sawyer doesn't have other plans and Stiles finds himself secretly glad for that. Which is probably kind of messed up, but...it is what it is. He gives her a little smile that's bordering sheepish.
"Honestly? I think that sounds kind of perfect if you don't mind me crashing it," Stiles replies. He tries not to think about how it might feel for her to fall asleep in his arms. Inappropriate, he reminds himself.
no subject
"Mmmm'kay, I'll remind you of that when I get out the polish to paint your toes," she jokes. Though, she might seriously try to paint his toenails just for fun.
It's not messed up. Sawyer is trying to put her life together and she needs friends to help her do that. Most of her friends did go away to college after they graduated and Sawyer would have as well if her mom hadn't been so sick. It's important that she do things with other people and doesn't just sit in the house. That's a one way trip to depression, something she's already battled with immediately after her mother's death and is still recovering from. Stiles' timing couldn't be more perfect.
"I actually prefer the crashing," she tells him quietly before pulling away and giving him a grateful look. "I'll go preheat the oven. You peruse Netflix and decide what we're going to watch then I'll go get the blankets for nesting."
no subject
A smile pulls up the corners of Stiles's mouth when she says she welcomes his crashing her plans to stay in for the night. He remembers how hard he took it when his mother died too and he, like Sawyer, had to watch her waste away in her own way. Claudia Stilinski's dementia ate away at her mind until she hallucinated terrible, horrifying-sounding things. There had been more than one occasion when she'd screamed for his father to "get him away" from her because she'd been convinced he was a demon trying to kill her. That was one of the less painful things he'd experienced at the ripe old age of eight. He knows how easy it is to fall down the rabbit hole of depression when grief seems like it will never let up and somehow, when the death isn't sudden, it almost feels like the grieving process drags out in a parallel fashion, at least in Stiles's experience. He's just glad she isn't turning him away and holing up alone even longer than she already had been in his absence.
"All right, any preferences or hard no's for genres or anything?" he asks as he leans forward and reaches for the remote control on her coffee table. "I'd hate to ruin our very first sleepover picking something you hate and slowing us down. Everybody knows that you can't start eating until you've picked the perfect thing to watch on Netflix. It's a law, I think. I'll have to check with my dad, but I'm pretty sure," he jokes.
no subject
Sawyer had been, at least, spared that and even now, hearing it would earn him a tight hug. She knows that he lost his mom young, and maybe that also makes him being the one here perfect. He knows what she's going through. When her mother had first died, she'd been told by more than one person that at least they'd had time to prepare for it. However, Sawyer thinks that Stiles' experience is more like the what she'd gone through. She will probably have days to come where she will want to hole up alone, but for now she's attempting to learn how to live life after her mother's death.
"Definitely nothing sad or too dramatic," Sawyer yells from the kitchen. "Maybe something with lots of ass kicking and something we've seen before so we can talk if we want!" She turns the oven on in the kitchen and roots around in the fridge before popping a casserole dish in the oven and slipping back to her bedroom to haul blankets and pillows out. When she finally emerges from the bedroom, her arms are piled high with pillows and blankets, which she drops in the middle of the floor in front of the TV.

"Fair enough," he calls back as he starts looking through the buddy cop selection, because he figures that covers the most bullet points. He finally settles on something that they've both seen a couple of times and finally toes his shoes off to get a little more comfortable on the couch. While she's in the other room, he's trying to figure out the best way to look casual — when he isn't — and get comfortable while also appearing inviting for her. Which, really, feels kind of like the wrong thing to do because it feels ulterior-motive-y of him, but before he can think too much on it — or accomplish anything other than an awkward and uncomfortable position that's half-laying and half-sitting that he has to shift out of quickly anyway — she comes back into the room laden with blankets and pillows.
Stiles gets back to his feet to help her with them only for her to drop them on the floor. "Okay, are we fort-building, what are we doing here, Sawyer?" he teases playfully. "I went with Rush Hour, by the way," he adds.
no subject
"Wow, Stiles. You are totally failing at this slumber party thing," she jokes with him. Hearing him laugh completely transforms the house and Sawyer's mood. It makes her long for life that isn't filled with sadness. It makes her want to laugh and it makes her want to hug him because of this perfect, perfect timing.
Buddy cop is a pretty decent category to go with. Honestly, she's not terribly picky what they watch. She figures they'll end up talking through most of the movie anyway, and that's okay with her. It's more for background noise and an excuse to be slovenly. While he's having his mini crisis in the living room, she's not thinking much about her appearance. After all, Stiles has never looked at her like that, right? She doesn't think it probably matters that she's wearing leggings and a big sweatshirt or that she doesn't have on makeup. She took a shower and combed her hair that day. She's pretty sure that unless she looks (and smells) like she just rolled out of bed, Stiles won't notice. If she'd realized he was having a change of heart, she would have at least put on eyeliner and the red lipstick that she wears any time she's outside of the house. She might have also put on a bra. Oops?
"Nesting," she tells him as she toes some pillows back toward the coffee table. "Like building a pallet on the floor. Though, I guess we could make a blanket nest on the couch too." She appears to consider this, lips pursed, brows raised. "Good choice. You're officially a Netflix Jedi."
no subject
Nesting, she says, and Stiles gives an exaggerated nod. "Oooooh," he replies, grinning. "I vote nesting on the couch," he offers his opinion unprompted, because really, no matter how many blankets they pile under themselves on the floor, it's still going to be uncomfortable because it's still going to be a floor. If they use the couch, then they can forgo the padding and make a bigger nest. Right? At least, that's how Stiles imagines it. It's been more than a decade since he's done this sort of thing and a little part of him is kind of excited to revisit it as he creeps toward the end of his adolescence and into actual — as opposed to legal — adulthood.
"You want some help?"
no subject
"Nesting on the couch it is." He's got a point and that's clearly what sways her. Unless they want to drag a mattress down here (and why would they) it's going to be uncomfortable, while the couch is terribly comfortable. It just needs some pillows and blankets to really seal the deal. She's pretty psyched about it as well because it's revisiting a childhood that she was abruptly shoved out of. She'll help him hang out in adolescence a little longer.
"Yes, please," she chirps and starts tossing pillows toward the end of the couch that he's not sitting on. Pillow fights in their underwear is an event best scheduled for later (or you know, not at all). She'll grab a blanket and make her way to the couch. There's really not much arranging of the blankets. It's mostly just sort of piling it onto the couch and burrowing into it. Pillows can be arranged once Stiles has joined her.
no subject
Once they've got all the blankets and pillows on the couch, Stiles makes his way back and looks at her with a little lopsided smile. "Okay, what's the best way to do this for the optimum experience, here? I've never done the whole nesting thing, so you're going to have to be my guide, here," he says, sounding partially amused because he kind of is.
Certainly, this is a nice turn from their emotional greeting and he's looking forward to embracing this levity with the hopes of being able to lift her spirits a little.
no subject
The amusement is good. It's much better than mocking or indifference. "There's not a tried and true method," she tells him. "When it's just me, I sort of just curl up in the corner of the couch around a pillow and use the arm and back of the couch for support. So really, there are two choices and since it's your first time, I'll let you pick. You can pick a corner and curl up around me and I'll use a pillow, or we can pick separate corners and nest together, but not together."
He's already done a lot to raise her spirits.
no subject
And maybe that's a little shameless, because really, Stiles just wants an excuse to hold her.
"What do you think? Is that not going to be as comfortable as separate corners or...?" he asks, realizing belatedly how self-indulgent it sort of sounded and trying to gently backpedal just enough to give Sawyer an easy out.
no subject
Hey, she kind of wants him to have an excuse to hold her.
"Separate corners might be comfortable, but they're lonely." She's just going to set about padding the corner so they can start with the snuggling.
no subject
They've got plenty of padding in place before Stiles finally settles on the couch and holds his arms out to her. He feels like he's waited forever to be able to hold her and now he finally can. Again, he feels a little guilty about secretly feeling that way, but it is what it is. "All right, let's get this snuggle party started."
no subject
When Stiles holds his arms out for her, Sawyer dives into them, grabbing a blanket as she snuggles against his chest. She's got her legs stretched out along the length of the couch. "Now see, you're good at this," she tells him.
no subject
Stiles smiles when she basically jumps at him and his arms wrap around her a moment after she's settled and drawn the blankets up around them, complimenting his ability to nest properly.
"You know, I'm good with this, but...I'm seeing a potential issue," he points out. Then, Stiles nods at the remote all the way over on the coffee table. ...which is not very far away at all, but will require movement. His arms tighten around her. "What are we supposed to do with it all the way over there?" he asks, but makes no attempt to let her go. He's picking on her again. Stiles leans in and whispers into her ear with a smirk, "you did not think this through very well, Sawyer."
no subject
She groans a little at his realization. It's a valid problem. "Actually, I think you didn't think this through very well. If you'd put on Doctor Who we would have had hours of TV that it would just sail right through only pausing to ask us if we're awake at just the right time to go to the bathroom or get more food. I might have to re-evaluate your performance here," she tells him with a tsk.
She's not struggling to get away and that whisper in her ear sends goosebumps rushing over her skin. She swallows hard and reminds herself that this is Stiles. She doesn't need to go through that whole crushing on Stiles thing again.
no subject
He's still for a moment and then he leans back in, resting his chin on her shoulder, his face drawn in thought. "Well...somebody's going to have to get that."
Still, he makes no effort to loosen his hold or encourage her to actually get the stupid remote. Mostly, because he doesn't want her to move, lest she decide not to return to this exact spot and Stiles likes her right where she is.
no subject
She lifts a shoulder in a half shrug, unable to keep the smile off her face. "Blankets were my part and as you can see, that part is stellar. Netflix was your part." She actually manages to say this with a straight face.
"Hmmmhm," she hums in agreement, but she's not making an effort to break his hold. In fact, she seems rather content because she really kind of is.
She's not moving for the same reasons. She likes this spot and what if he shifts into something less welcoming and more 'you stay on your side, I'll stay on mine'? She's not taking that chance. "Or option B: We entertain ourselves and leave the remote where it is."
no subject
It doesn't escape his notice though that Sawyer isn't struggling for him to let her go, either. He tells himself that it's because she's comfortable and warm. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that she's in his arms; that's just him. He doubts she really cares about that part one way or the other. It's hardly the first time they've done something like this before, anyway. It's just the first time that Stiles has probably wanted it more than he should.
"What did you have in mind?" he asks, sort of relaxing his hold on her without letting go.
no subject
Nope. Not struggling. She's had a crush on Stiles practically since they met. There's no doubt in her mind, at least, that the reason she isn't struggling has so much more to do with it being Stiles than the fact that she is comfortable and warm. He's so wrong. Of course, she assumes that Stiles's feelings for her are still of friendship, and she is happy to have her friend back. She'd made her peace with that a long time ago.
She presses her lips together when Stiles asks her what she had in mind. Unconsciously, she holds her breath a moment before exhaling and leaning up a little to look at him. Her hand moves from his chest to the curve of his neck and she swallows hard. If she's going to do this, she needs to do it now before she chickens out. She pushes herself up a little to press her lips against Stiles's lips, her hand sliding a little higher on his neck. She keeps the kiss soft, questioning, trying to gauge how he's coping with this new (to him) development.
no subject
The pause that falls after his question makes Stiles a little bit nervous, he has to admit, because he's not really sure why she isn't answering. He isn't sure if she's thinking or whether she had something in mind already and he missed a cue or something — that's an entirely possible and probably likely scenario, however much he doesn't like to admit that. But there's something about the way that she's looking at him that has his stomach tying itself in anxious knots and he can't tell if it's the good kind of anxious because something awesome is about to happen or if it's the bad kind because he's prompted something and she's going to tease him for a second and then bust out giggling because she thinks he doesn't care about her as much as he does and that sort of thing would've been funny in high school. Hell, it would be funny now if he didn't want the real thing so bad.
But then she kisses him and, for a second, his eyes are wide open with surprise before he finally closes them and, once he's processed that holy shit this is really happening, his hand makes its way to the side of her face, holding her jaw as he kisses her back. This is what he'd been missing out on in high school because he'd been too stupid to know he was feeling it, but he's not going to waste the opportunity now. No way in hell.
