Pick one of my characters or drop any of your characters in and get a random choice.
Pick a scenario or use RNG (or make one up if you don't see what you want here).
Have fun!

I. Roadtrip

1. BREAK DOWN. Oh snap. Your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leather-face? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. HITCHHIKERS? Is this even a good idea? Threads may also have a third participant. Go wild.
3. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT? Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... Or I think that was a deer...
4. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND. Alas. You're the parent or disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back. This thread may also have a third or even fourth participant, if you can wing it.
5. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK! No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
6. THE GREAT ESCAPE. Either dinosaurs or the moth-man is chasing you. Don't stop now.
7. MAKE OUT. For whatever reason, the person you're traveling with in the car. You would love to make out with them and then some.

II. Cuddles

1. SWEET DREAMS. It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.
2. STORMY WEATHER. The heavy rain, thunder, and lightning won't be letting up anytime soon. Luckily, it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and snuggle up close and keep warm.
3. SLOW DANCE. It's the end of a party, or maybe it's only the two of you, but the tempo is slow and the lights are low. Let your dance partner take the weight and just sway.
4. SURPRISE ATTACK. Time to invade someone's personal space. Are they working too much and need a distraction? Maybe you just wanted to brighten their day. Either way, they won't see it coming.
5. MOVIE NIGHT. It can be on the sofa or in a darkened theater, but you've got your popcorn and someone to settle against during your favorite movie.
6. I LOVE YOU, MAN. It's totally platonic, really. You're just very good friends, no matter what people like to think. But you just love your friend so much you want to hug them, whether they like it or not.
7. JEEPERS CREEPERS. Welp. You were just frightened. Was it a spider in the washroom, a ghost in the attic, a bad dream? Either way, you're looking for someone to cling to right now, and who better than that person right there?
8. HURT AND COMFORT. Whether you're sick in bed, just been dumped, or suffered a traumatic event, you need someone to wrap their arms around you and make everything go away.
9. SUNDAY MORNING. Maybe you just had a wild night. Maybe there's just not enough space at your place and you need to share your bed. Or maybe you just got really tired and someone else happened to be there. Doesn't matter because now the person with you looks way more comfortable than any blanket or pillow. Drape to your heart's content.
10. MOMENT AFTER. You just had incredible, vigorous sex and if you weren't a cuddler before, you are now. You're probably too exhausted to do anything else anyway. Just enjoy the moment.
11. PLAYER'S CHOICE. Pick one or make up your own!

III. Hurt/Comfort

1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little paper-cut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though.
6. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to make up.
7. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
8. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheat on, abuse, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
9. LOSS. You've experienced a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.

IV. Texts from Last Night

1.Go here
2. Make Magic happen

V. Intimacy

1. PHYSICAL INTIMACY. It might just be innocent touches or it might be foreplay.
2. LONG CONVERSATIONS. Honest words can be more intimate than touch.
3. DRUNK. You're over-sharing or simply maudlin.
4. FORCED INTIMACY. Magic. A truth serum, whatever - you didn't mean to bare your soul, but that is precisely what you're doing right now.
5. SLOW-DANCING. There is something inherently intimate about trusting someone else to lead you, and someone trust you to lead them.
6. OTHER. Intimacy can come in many forms. Pick your poison.

VI. SENTINEL GUIDE
Prompts
oo1. The Meeting:
How did you meet? Was it at an event organized specifically for finding your other half? By accident? Did you follow a mystical calling to them? Some other way?

oo2. Rejection:
Sometimes Sentinels or Guides propose a match but it's just not perfect. You don't feel the pull or maybe you think there is someone better or maybe you're already claimed. Maybe you were claimed and someone better came along?

oo3. Protection:
Sentinels are meant to protect Guides, any Guides, but it's even worse when they feel their Guide is in danger. They go feral; blind to anything but stopping and killing whoever threatened their Guide or the bond. Maybe someone attacked your Guide or you haven't bonded yet and you feel threatened or maybe you're the one doing the threatening. Whatever the reason, Sentinels in a feral state are dangerous and only their Guides can stop them.

oo4. Lost:
Sentinels often lose themselves in their senses. Either you're a Sentinel who has lost themselves or a Guide that has stumbled on one or a friend trying to draw them out. Unbonded Sentinels will find it hard to escape without a Guide. Or maybe you're bonded already which means you just need yours to come home.

005. Persecution:
Sometimes normal people or the government fear the power of Guides and Sentinels. Guides are empaths, feeling the emotions and sometimes passing thoughts of others and it can make people feel violated. Sentinels often have enhanced strength, which can make them dangerous. So they scorn them, hurt them or in the case of governments, regulate them.

oo6. Old-School:
Guides used to be treated on the same level as slaves. Unable to work unless their Sentinel said. Not allowed out on their own. They used to wear collars and couldn't own land or inherit money. Maybe the old ways haven't completely fallen out of style.

oo7. Unbonded:
Nothing sucks more than being an unbonded Guide or Sentinel. Always looking for your other half to fill that empty feeling but you probably have friends that aren't your match or who are trying to set you up with someone. Maybe you're skeptical about the whole love at first sight thing and haven't been looking.

oo8. Wildcard: Some mish-mash of the above or anything else you can come up with!

Other Options
Don't like any of the above? Here are some other options:
1. Picture Prompt: go here or any of your other favorite picture sites. Leave me a few pictures and I'll set something up.
2. Pick a prompt from this prompt tumblr or try googling OTP prompts
3. Insomnia! One or both of you can't sleep. Be awake together.
4. Leave me a scenario, lyrics, a word or a quote

Don't ask Dani O'Malley how she ended up here in Central City. All she knows is she started running and didn't give up, didn't ever stop until she got here and found herself running faster than anyone else should be able to run alongside someone else. What the feck? She's the only one who's supposed to be able to do that! Not fair, world! Not fair! Her one special thing that sets her apart from all the rest and someone else in a red jumpsuit's got the same ability?

Not bloody likely. Something's amiss here. Leave it to Dani 'Mega' O'Malley to figure it out. Dani's smart, smarter than anyone really gives her credit for.

So they freeze-frame along, Dani zipping past him and stopping short. Him slipping past her and stopping short. Again, and again, they circle around each other until they just go at it in one long run, speeding together through the streets, the wind whipping past Dani's long flaming red hair and her feeling like she's flying. Until Dani's endurance starts to peter out. Of course it does! Can't let Dani O'Malley get the better of a guy in spandex even! Fecking hell!!!

She keeps trying to jump start her freeze-frame. In short bursts she goes and then slows down until finally it isn't even worth it. She pauses to pluck a candy bar our of her pocket and start munching on it. Food should help. She always has food on hand.

Central City isn't a bad place to end up. The moment Barry sees another speedster, he panics a little. The only other one he knows of is Wells and that didn't turn out so well. He's deeply curious as well. She doesn't seem to be trying to kill him. That's new and refreshing.

There's always something amiss in Central City.

It's a game: let her get ahead then speed past. He assumes she's doing the same: letting him get ahead then speeding past him. Barry loves running. He always has, but he'd only really come to love it once he'd gotten his power. Running this fast was like flying. The only reason that Barry isn't running out of endurance is because he trains for this all the time. He's been training to beat Wells and that had required a great deal of endurance.

Barry catches up with her and comes to a stop. "haven't seen you around," he says by way of greeting.

The great escape - for Del Spooner

[personal profile] overadozen 2016-01-18 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
One minute her shuttle got caught in a nebula and Quill, Rocket and Drax were screaming at her over the comm unit, the next her shuttle was being hurled across the galaxy at astonishing speeds. Several bits and pieces of the inner-workings started to malfunctioning and then she was crashing into the atmosphere of a mostly blue planet. Even the escape pod malfunctioned. Gamora, only a mediocre pilot, had barely landed the shuttle in tact. It skidded to a stop in a park in Chicago. Grabbing every weapon she has, she sets out on foot.

The land is strange to her. People stare at her green skin as she passes them and she holds her head high and continues on her way. There is artificial life here, which is nothing new, although this life seems somewhat advanced in the way it seems to notice her rather than blindly complete tasks of one kind or another. One such life form glows red and tries to subdue her. It gets a swift kick that sends it across the street. Then, what she assumes are the authorities are upon her.

Gamora, a skilled fighter, warrior, assassin, makes quick work of a few more robots here and there. That's when she notices she is severely outnumbered. She hunkers down in a warehouse, after breaking in, of course. The space is massive and dark save for the light coming in from the large cargo windows near the ceiling. She hears something behind her and turn swiftly, ready to fight with weapons in both hands. She is shadowed in the dimness. So is this man. Neither of them can fully see one another rather than the dark shadows of their shapes.

"You should back away, beast." She assumes it's another of the strange artificial beings.

It's a normal day at the precinct for Spooner. He'd stopped by his grandma's early that morning, had coffee and sweet potato pie then headed into work to get some paperwork done. Unlike some detectives, Spooner likes paperwork. It's one of the few things that's done the old fashioned way. Yes, he has to log it into the computer, but he also has to fill out a hard copy. That's the part of paperwork that he likes.

He's in the middle of his nice, soothing, old-fashioned paperwork when they get the call. A robot attacked a woman whose skin appeared to be green and she took it down. More importantly she took several of the department robots down. Spooner doesn't play well with other and splits off from the rest of the detectives that go after her. He's creeping down the alleys when he notices one of the warehouses have been broken into. It'd make a great hiding place. He creeps in through a back door. It's only by her weapons and her defensive stance that he knows he's found the right person.

"You're gonna hurt my grandma's feelings callin' me names like that," Spooner says creeping a little further out of the shadows. His hands are slightly out by his side. He's got his gun tucked away in a holster. He's wearing a plain, black, long-sleeved tee shirt, a black knit cap and dark jeans. He's not trying to hide the holstered gun at all. He's also got his detective badge hanging from his front pants pocket so she can see it.

"You caused a little bit of panic back there. Pulled me away from my coffee just when I was contemplating a second piece of sweet potato pie."

Eric is quickly realizing that there is no world in which Dawn doesn't need saving. She's not a damsel in distress, not really, but she is surrounded by supernatural beings and that leaves her a out-powered more often than not. Eric doesn't mind rescuing her. He likes the fight and the violence; he always has. He worries, of course, that he won't get to her in time. His blood can heal a lot of things, but once she's gone there's nothing he can do and he's lost enough people in his time. He doesn't want to lose Dawn.

She's got more than enough of his blood in her that tracking her isn't a problem. He lands in a snow covered forest, trees bitten with frost. He chooses to use the element of surprise and lands right in the middle of the Frost Fae camp. By the time he's reached Dawn, almost a dozen fae lay in various pieces scattered around snow that is more red than white. He's drunk on fae blood and has a couple of patches of frostbite on his cheek and hand. He'd been smart enough to cover everything else up. Of course, the more fae blood he drank, the more immune he became to their frost attacks.

He tears off the door to the cage they'd trapped Dawn in, bent low to step inside.

For Eric

[personal profile] theycalledmeacurse 2016-01-19 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Ending up in the middle of nowhere in Western Europe hadn't been on her list of things to do, but Rogue hadn't really had much say in the matter when that portal had opened up and dumped her in a field outside some small French village. She supposed she had to be grateful that she at least spoke the language of the place she'd ended up, or things could have been a lot worse. Still, with no money, no identification, and no idea of where to go, things were pretty bad in their own right. Because this was definitely not her world.

Vampires. That had been her first clue that things were a little different here. And by clue she meant big flashing neon sign. Because vampires were out in the open, generally accepted by people, and that substitute blood was found in every big market she passed. And if she was being honest with herself, she was a little angry that people that died during the day and had to drink blood to survive were more accepted in this world than mutants had ever been in her own world.

That was her second clue - no mutants. She was one of a kind, a strange new variety of monster that would have to hide who and what she was for the rest of her life, however long that turned out to be. She wasn't giving up though; she'd survived years of torture and the literal end of her entire world, she could survive this too. Starting over wouldn't be so bad, living a quiet life somewhere and doing her best to be 'normal'.

Or it could be a living hell. Hard to say, really.

Either way, she'd gotten her hands on a little money and after a few rounds of cards with some locals, had scrounged up enough for some decent clothes and a train ticket to a decent-sized city. Or so she'd thought. Maybe she'd read the schedule wrong, or maybe the staff just didn't like Americans, because the last stop turns out to be a little station that was miles from her destination, and at eleven o'clock at night she has the options of sleeping at the station or walking along the road, maybe trying to hitch a ride.

She chooses walking.
vikingly: (I'm listening)

[personal profile] vikingly 2016-01-27 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Eric is constantly surprised by how many different kinds of beings there are in the world. He'd assumed after so many centuries walking the earth he'd seen and heard of everything. The world constantly proved him wrong. At the end of the day, survivors were the only ones left and Eric appreciated someone who could survive because he's a survivor as well. Having a chance to start over is always a blessing, Eric thinks, but then he's started over many, many times in his life.

After everything with the vampire authority had gone down, Eric had moved out of Louisiana. He'd come to France for that fresh start as well. He's got a small wine bar in a little town in France. He's just closed up and is taking stock of the town, trying to while away his hours when he catches sight of a woman he doesn't recognize (from behind) walking along the side of the road. He slows his car, a little red convertible, and pulls to a stop next to her.

"Awfully late for a woman to be out by herself," he says in French.

He lost his hair long ago and they've cured the measles that they gave him, but no one is sure yet whether they've cured the cancer or not. He, Annie, and his parents are waiting in the hospital waiting room for Gus to go in for the PET scan that will tell them if he's still got cancer. He's wearing track pants, a tee shirt and a beanie pulled down over his bald head. Just the mere act of being here is exhausting, but he's got Annie's hand clenched tightly in his own. They're sitting on one of those vinyl loveseats with his parents across from them and they are pressed as closely together as is possible.

He looks over at Annie and leans in to press a kiss to the top of her head then leans against her. He doesn't want to be here. He'd rather be anywhere but here right now, which prompts him to whisper in her ear: ]

San Fransisco is literally better in every way to Cap Au Diable. Cape of the devil. Actually any city would be better than that crapshoot of an island. Thankfully that place was an entire alternate universe away now, since he had fled through a portal corp brand portal to here.

Hard not to notice the differences. Magic so strong and so new you could almost feel it. Shadow was made of magic himself, so he was actually pretty good on keying in on it.

What's actually the weird part is seeing a couple monsters roaming the street. Nobody even blinking an eye at it.

Weird.

Him though, his curiosity is getting the better of him, following a trail of magic to an old apartment building of sorts. Works for him. The idea that peaking in through windows doesn't even occur to the fourteen year old beast boy.

Well, what do you expect from a place called 'cape of the devil'? At least it wasn't false advertising. That's the problem with messing with magic. Portals pop up from all over, letting in all kinds of things. At least Shadow wasn't an evil thing that came through?

Buffy hopes anyway.

Yeah. It was San Francisco and people tended to rationalize away what they didn't want ot see.

Buffy is sitting on the couch watching an 80's movie marathon when she hears a noise. She doesn't think to look up. Most things that come to get her either start out attacking or they don't come to her home. "There's Chinese in the kitchen," she comments thinking that it's either Dawn or Spike. Maybe ever Xander.

Matt isn't even sure how it rains in this place, but he knows that he can hear it and smell it. Water is leaking down some of the walls and everything is sort of damp. Work seems to have been put off for the day in most positions so Lydia and Matt are spending it together. There had been a picnic (or as much of a picnic as one could have considering their food choices) and now they were lazing about on the blanket in an unused part of the complex. His head was in her lap and he idly twisted a piece of her hair around his finger.

"Before this place, what did you want to do with your life?" he asks, curious as to what a Lydia that he'd never have known was like and how it differed from this Lydia that he was falling in love with.

works for me!

preemptiveforgiveness: (Confused)

[personal profile] preemptiveforgiveness 2016-08-04 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Matt had first met Fatima out on the streets as Daredevil. She'd been intriguing enough that Matt had gone looking for her in the daytime world. It was a big city and he'd had no idea where to find her, but he'd started in Hell's Kitchen and worked outwards. Eventually he had found her. She'd known there was something different about him from the beginning. Of course, she hadn't led the conversation with that. They'd gotten to know each other over coffee dates and eventually drinks that had led to dinner dates. Dinner dates had led to something very like a relationship that he was hesitant to name simply because his experience with relationships hadn't been good in the past.

Tonight, he's home from the office a little later than usual. The smell of baby's breath and dried branches fills the hallway, but it's not until he goes to unlock his door that he realizes the smell is coming from his apartment. He unlocks the door and steps inside, mail going onto the table there. The smell of baby's breath is strongest here. He reaches up, fingers brushing over fresh baby's breath and dried branches twisted into a circle.

"Fatima...why is there a wreath in my foyer?" he asks because yes, he knows she's here too. He can smell her and hear her.

Lucy

[personal profile] duelo 2016-08-25 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Running had always been the plan. Derek never meant to stay anywhere for very long. He'd once told Scott that once he started running, he would never stop, and that statement had come from experience. It started with the fire over a decade ago...and Derek was always running.

She's everything he's afraid of getting attached to: a white woman who appears to be human; they've only ever hurt him and the people he cares about in the past. She's everything Derek's never wanted, in some ways very much a polar opposite of him while, in other ways, a little too much like him. She somehow manages to bring out both the best and the worst of Derek and he hates her for it. ...but he likes her a lot for it, too, and maybe that's why, even though he keeps telling himself that they're two ships passing in the night, he still hasn't left Alabama. There's nothing keeping him here, except that he keeps running into her and call it kismet or call it a disaster waiting to happen, but Derek can't make himself leave, because then he'll be leaving behind the one person who's managed to make him smile in the past several years without also surreptitiously stabbing him in the back. Yet.

The hotel he's been holing himself up in is nothing special, but it doesn't need to be. He grew up wealthy and pampered and while he's still wealthy, God knows he's lived in worse places. The burned out shell of his family home after Kate Argent trapped damn near everyone who ever mattered to him all inside and lit it on fire, killing them all, comes to mind. The train depot, too, springs to the forefront. Even his loft in the warehouse district — the first thing he ever actually owned on his own that hadn't been handed down to him or inherited — was dingy and unloved, empty for lack of effort to make it look like a home. So he doesn't mind staying in a hotel. It's not the hotel that's the problem. It's his apparent inability or unwillingness to leave it in his wake and move on that bothers him.

And whether she realizes it or not, that's Lucy's fault entirely.

He doesn't like sports — except basketball — but he finds himself frequenting the local sports bar because he's run into her a few times there. Tonight, he's hoping for another run in and that both exhilarates and infuriates him because he should know better by now. Women are powerful. Women are leaders. Women are deadly because he's been cursed with terrible character judgement abilities and he's too easily won by a pretty face with a nice smile.

Derek settles on a stool, ordering a beer he doesn't really want and that he won't really feel, and a side of cheese fries. Why he's here is still largely a mystery to him, because it's stupid to think that she'll be any different from anyone else and, quite frankly, he doesn't know her that well. For all he knows, she's just a social butterfly who'll chat up whoever feels so inclined to look in her general direction when she's in a good mood and that's all this has been; that the spark he thinks might be there between them is all in his head.

So now he's just going to wait and see if she shows up and he promises himself — for the dozenth time since he originally made his "pit stop" here — that if she doesn't come in tonight, then that's a sign and he'll pack up and head out tomorrow. The rest is up to fate. Or Lucy. ...or both.

Lucy is entirely human. In fact, she's not even aware that there are such things as non-humans or half humans or werewolves or vampires. She reads books about those things, but she assumes they're fiction. When she'd first met Derek, she'd been aware that he was passing through. She'd been pleasantly surprised to see him again and by the third time, she'd assumed he'd simply decided to stay in Alabama longer than planned.

She tries not to get close to people, but she likes Derek. He's so serious and grumpy. She feels like she's accomplished something when she makes him smile or laugh. He's gorgeous, which Lucy is just shallow enough to really appreciate, and he's interesting. Sure, she doesn't get a lot out of him when she starts trying to get him to talk about himself, but that's part of the challenge. She definitely wants to get to know Derek better and she's beginning to think she might get that chance. She's also beginning to like him more than she's ready to admit.

Lucy is a social butterfly that will chat up a fence post, but that doesn't change the fact that she likes Derek. She's almost always in a good mood and when she's not, she either hides in her apartment or fakes it. That spark, it's not all in Derek's head. She feels it when they're together as well and more often she finds herself hoping that he won't leave Alabama at all (of course, it's also possible that Lucy could be persuaded to go on a road trip).

The Houndstooth is Lucy's favorite bar. She frequents it far more than she probably should, but Lucy isn't one that pays much attention to shoulds or should nots. She sort of does what she wants. She bops into the Houndstooth dressed like a ray of sunshine (which is normal for her). Her hair bounces around her shoulders and down her back. She makes a beeline for the bar, her lips curving in a bright smile when she sees Derek there. She immediately postpones getting a drink and walks over to him, leaning in to brush a kiss against his cheek. "Well now my night is made."

And she's sincere about that. She'd only come in for a drink thinking she'd chat with the bartender and maybe meet some friends later. Her night is looking much better than that now.

Call them codependent, but Cam's all his baby sister has ever had. Their mother and Sophie's father are too married to their work and always have been; Cam's been her brother, mother, and father since she was a year old and so when it comes time for her to go off to college...maybe they're both being stupid, but they decide she can forgo the whole dorm experience and they'll find an apartment somewhere within a reasonable commute to NYU's campus and Sophie will go to school while Cam starts looking for a job. He's just finished his bar exam; law school took a little longer than it should've because he'd had to juggle his course load while making sure Sophie got through high school with a state and a half between them at the time. It helps that their parents are fairly wealthy and are willing to pay the rent until Sophie finishes her four-year degree. That buys Cam a lot of time to find a good job and get shit done.

The problem is...they're from Greenwich. He studied in Boston University and then at UConn which was, admittedly, a step down the prestige ladder. He has no connections in New York City and no one gives a shit about a twenty-five year old kid who just passed the bar. He's been on six interviews and has sent in at least twenty resumes. Not a damn thing sticks until he answers a classified ad for help at a "small but growing" firm in Hell's Kitchen. Cam doesn't even know where Hell's Kitchen is; he has to Google the metro route to get there from lower Manhattan.

When he gets there, he stands in front of the building with his brow creased in confusion. This is a joke, right? This isn't an office building...right? All the same, he heads up the stairs and gets to the door. Sweet...baby...Jesus, small is right. There's no way this isn't just...two or three dudes in an office with like card tables instead of real desks, no way.

But it's a job. Potentially. So he knocks on the door anyway.

In a surprising turn of events, Nelson & Murdock has seen an upturn in business. Unfortunately, many of their clients don't pay in actual money, but Foggy and Matt are unlikely to starve. They need another lawyer, especially with Matt's night job. Half the time he's too beat up or too tired to come in and it's wearing on everyone.

That's why he'd put the ad in the paper. Foggy hadn't agreed with it at first, but even he's being worn down. Matt scheduled the interview and Foggy was supposed to be here, but he'd been called away by a client. Karen is helping Foggy so that leaves just Matt to do the interview. He hears the guy coming up the stairs but sits at his desk and waits until the knock.

"It's open," he says, getting up from his desk, grabbing his cane and tap-tapping out to the 'front' room. Really, there's not much space between his office, the front office and Foggy's office, but the rent is cheap and it's what they can manage right now.

[Putting this here so your reply winds up in my inbox and I don't have to worry about losing it! Also to check if you had any setup ideas. I'm figuring either Rose (probably not realizing she can, maybe something to do with the TARDIS key?) calls the Doctor, or some emergency to do with the walls between universes happens, orrr he just finds a way, maybe during his "farewell tour" at the end of s6. Thoughts?]

Gracie

[personal profile] namegenerator 2016-09-10 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Cisco has hogged Gracie, the two of them largely hoarding away in his apartment to revel in their newly official relationship, for the past two days, but when he wakes up this morning, he tells himself that they're going to do something different. Today, they need to get off their butts, get out of the apartment for something other than food, and do things. There's always more time at night for them to be alone together, but his friends have been blowing up his phone asking about her and he promised that he'd take her to STAR Labs, so Cisco finally bit the bullet and let Barry and Caitlin know it was time and they were coming. He doubts they'll do a whole lot of rearranging except that they might move the Flash suit out of the main office so that Barry can get to it in an emergency without giving himself away. Either way, though, he feels like it's only fair to give them a warning that he's planning on bringing a civilian into the lab to show her around the not-so-top-secret stuff.

He lets her sleep in while he hops in the shower and then gets dressed and then he lays back down on the bed beside her, wrapping his arms around her and leaving a trail of little kisses along her shoulder and upper arm. "Gracie, wakey wakey," he says softly. In her defense, they stayed up pretty late last night, but Cisco has a hard time sleeping past seven in the morning no matter what time he goes to bed the night before. His body clock is stubborn and set in its ways. There's no way he would've expected her to be up as early without an alarm. Especially since she really, really doesn't need to be.

"You wanna go to the lab today?" he offers to sweeten the pot.

Gracie hasn't minded any of the hogging. In fact, she's encouraged it. There has been no other way she would rather spend her vacation. However, people probably are starting to think that she's kidnapped him and is holding him hostage, or vice versa. She's actually been looking forward to going to see the lab, but somehow they haven't managed to get out of the apartment much.

She appreciates so very much that he lets her sleep. She doesn't mind mornings, but they were up late and sleeping in is luxurious, and if you love someone, you let them sleep. Or something like that. Also, she will sleep in every morning if this is how he wakes her up. She stirs a little as he kisses her shoulder and arm. She turns the slightest bit, leaning into him and craning her neck a bit so she can see him. She also has to reach up and shove her mess of her hair off her face. "Eggs and bakey?" she responds sleepily.

Then he mentions the lab and a smile bursts across her face. "Yes." That smile turns into a giggle and she leans up to press a kiss to his lips. "Give me twenty minutes? Is that okay? I'll go as fast as I can."

Sawyer

[personal profile] companero 2016-09-26 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
His first year of college really hadn't been what Stiles expected it to be. There were no frat parties — or if there were, he hadn't been made aware of them — no food fights in the cafeteria, no togas, no hooking up with the hottest girl. The bathroom was a shared one on his dormitory floor and it was disgusting; he had to wear flip flops in the shower. Once, he even got in there and found that someone had used it as a bathroom. And not the kind of use that could've been "flushed" by way of turning the shower on and letting it run for a few seconds.

His roommate was a dick; the guy honestly must never have had any friends in his entire life because any time Stiles tried to socialize with him or relate to him, or even just talk to him, all he got in return was either a blank stare or the stink eye, depending on what his roommate was doing at the time. The stink eye tended to come when Keaton was playing Second Life — which, in retrospect, probably should've been a bigger clue to Stiles about his roommate's ability to socialize than it had been — whereas the blank stare tended to come pretty much any other time.

Classes were longer and duller. Homework was harder and the workload more stressful. There were no werewolves or nogitsunes running around wreaking havoc, but by the time finals were over and he was driving back to Beacon Hills for winter break, Stiles had never been more tired in his life. It wasn't that he hated college. It was just...that...okay, he hated college.

His dad's working and Scott's not due home for another week when Stiles gets home and so he lays down on his own bed for a while just staring up at the ceiling. He wonders if any of his other friends had as crappy a first semester as he had, but he decides that he's going to say that his semester was great and pretend that he's happy with the way things are going. It's just easier to suffer in silence later and alone than to hear Lydia Martin talk about how incredible Harvard is or to hear Scott talk about how much fun he's having at UCLA and only have "someone took a shit in one of the shower stalls one time," in response.

A few minutes pass before Stiles decides that lying around and ruminating on his less than stellar college experience so far is just asking for a crappy mood, so he pushes himself up and heads out of the house, walking down the street in spite of the crisp chill in the air — what feels like winter in Beacon Hills had felt a lot closer to late summer weather in Irvine, but it still isn't as cold as Lydia says it is in Boston — to clear his head. He takes pause when he reaches Sawyer's house and he stops for a moment, just looking back at the place. He hasn't been there in a while. A long while. And he hasn't talked to Sawyer in months. They just sort of lost touch while he'd gotten wrapped up in the stresses of college. He'd lost touch with Kira and Malia, too, and Liam. He only stayed in touch with Scott and Lydia because they made him. It isn't like he loves his friends any less or that he's replaced them with his new friends at college, it's just that he's turned out to be surprisingly bad at keeping in contact with his friends when they're not seeing one another every day.

Maybe it's stupid, but Stiles kind of misses Sawyer the most. She was his tether to normalcy, whether she realized it or not. He feels especially bad, in retrospect, about losing touch with her. Before he realizes what he's doing, his feet are carrying him toward the house and up to the door and soon, he's ringing the doorbell and wondering how stupid this is, because maybe she's not even home yet. Maybe if she is, she doesn't want to talk to him anymore.

Maybe he's missed his window of opportunity and the fact that as the summer had drawn to a close and he'd realized too late that he was kind of in love with her didn't matter anymore because he'd missed his chance.

College always looks too cool, too hip, too amazing in the movies to be real. She'd thought about Stiles at college, had even texted him a couple of times, but life had gotten in the way. She figured he was way too busy to think about her and she had a lot going on in her life as well. The last few months have been overwhelming. She hadn't gone away to college because her mom's health had taken a turn for the worse. Her mom has been sick for years and had used a portable oxygen tank. That wasn't new, but the way that even the oxygen wasn't working was new. Things had gone down quickly and her mom had died a few weeks after Stiles had left for college. She's been busy dealing with insurance, medical bills, cremation expenses, wills and everything else that comes with losing a parent.

The house probably looks a little neglected, but the kid next door mows the lawn often enough. Currently, Sawyer is trying to decide whether she's going to stay in Beacon Hills or move somewhere else. She's got a college fund, something her mother started for her when she was a baby, but she hasn't applied to any colleges nor does she have a clue what she wants to do with her life. She's home when Stiles rings the bell, but she's only been home from work at the diner for a little while. She'd come home, changed and collapsed on the couch to watch TV for a little while.

When she answers the door, she does so without looking through the peephole to see who it is. Her hair is mussed and she's wearing a pair of leggings and a long, plaid button down. She's surprised to see Stiles standing there. For a moment, she looks shellshocked then she looks happy. "Stiles. Wow. Come in," she says, opening the door wider. "I didn't know you were in town."

Lucy

[personal profile] duelo 2016-09-28 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
They say that if he wants to leave, all he has to do is walk back through his door, assuming that said door is willing to cooperate. Derek doesn't care. He's starting to wonder if he might be one of the only people he's met so far who feels that way. The werewolf is not interested in returning to Beacon Hills. Ever again. His sister is down in South America, but she seems to be doing better without him than she had when she was reunited briefly with him, so he thinks maybe this is the best solution for everyone. She's safer when he isn't in her life and as much as that hurts him, the distance is a sacrifice Derek is willing to make because Cora is all he's got left. If letting her go means keeping her alive, it isn't even a question.

So no, Derek doesn't want to go home. Itinere isn't perfect — the sheer perfection of it that he's seen so far is clue enough of that; nothing is ever as good as it initially seems, he's learned over the course of a pretty rough life — but it's nice. Derek will take nice over nightmare any day of the week.

There's an eclipse tonight. He knows; it took a while to get the hang of the cycle of the moon here because the time doesn't line up with home, but he's figured it out. The lunar eclipse used to be a terrifying few hours that would hang over his head every so often. It used to mean locking himself up and hiding away to keep from being a sitting duck for a hunter with the wherewithal to use those hours of weakness to their advantage. Once, he used the time to fight on an even playing ground with the Alpha Pack.

Here, he's just going to finally see what it feels like to get drunk. Derek's never done it before. At the age of twenty-six, he thinks he's pretty well overdue. So the sun has already set when he makes his way to the Houndstooth. The newspaper says the eclipse will only last an hour and change, but they're nearly never right when they predict it. It could be longer, but it could also be shorter and once the eclipse is finished, Derek's ability to become inebriated goes with it, so he's not looking to waste any time. A buzz will do, he doesn't have to become completely intoxicated, but his goal is to finally find out what all the fuss is about. Houndstooth seems as good a place as any to start.

"Whatever the strongest thing is that you've got back there, I want one," he tells the bartender before he lowers himself onto a stool between a tiny blonde woman and a burly biker looking man. Well, there's a stool between himself and the other man, but it's the only empty one at the moment. Derek's not afraid, but he's also not stupid. He can't fight worth a damn and everyone he's ever met knows it, but without his supernatural strength and agility, he'd be especially screwed. Are bar fights even really a thing that happens in real life or is that just in the movies? Derek's not really looking to find out the answer to that question tonight, so leaving some space feels like the best move. You never know.

Lucy has been told the same thing, but she's stopped trying to open her door. She knows that she should probably want to get back to her mother, but she'd rather stay here. Back home, she's got to deal with her father's fairly recent death. She's got to deal with her mother's grief; she's got to deal with her own grief. She'd rather stay here with Jill and the bar, the friends she's made and a total lack of responsibility.

it is nice and Lucy can handle the weird things that happen, the bad things that happen. She's had practice with that. No one has ever prepared her for losing her dad, for her mom being sad. Itinere is good, at least as far as she's concerned.

He is definitely overdue and he's obviously chosen the best bar in Itinere to get drunk at. Here, particularly, they can never be sure about things like that. The eclipse could last seconds or it could last days. Things are like that here. For his sake, Lucy hopes he's got time to get smashed.

The bartender makes some small talk, glancing at the tiny blonde then back at Derek as she makes a Four Horsemen. She sets it in front of Derek and goes to make another drink for the blonde. Said blonde, takes her drink, sips it and leans closer to Derek.

"Alright, Big Guy, so what are you celebrating or what are you drinking away?"

For Beth

[personal profile] duelo 2016-10-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Getting out of New York City had been nothing short of a nightmare when the outbreak became widespread enough for people to notice it. By then, it had been too late. There was nothing to be done except try to find safe haven and hope to God that the CDC had a plan in place that they were going to roll out sooner than later. Derek had packed an old, ratty backpack he'd still had around and he'd abandoned his dead sister's Camaro in favor of foot patrol. Once he'd gotten out of Brooklyn, Derek realized he was going to be a lot faster on four legs than two.

Nobody seemed to notice — or maybe they just didn't care — that there was a big, black wolf bolting down I-95 with a beat up Jansport hanging out of his mouth as he held it with his teeth. He'd heard there was somewhere safe in Atlanta; a branch of the CDC maybe, that was taking in people who were still alive. Derek hadn't had any idea whether it was true, but he'd tried, anyway.

It hadn't been. He'd found himself on the outskirts of Atlanta starving and tired four days later and he'd ended up taking refuge in what had been an abandoned barn, in its loft. It was only abandoned for so long before someone — probably whoever owned the place — started loading the goddamned walking dead into it. The smell of the things was beyond nauseating and while he would've preferred to stay where he was relatively safe and unnoticed, he couldn't get past the smell. He'd sneaked out while they'd been settling in, apparently, one of the zombies and the man who had brought it in had his attention on the walker rather than on his surroundings. Behind the barn, he'd transitioned out of the wolf and was getting dressed when he'd come face to face with the blonde girl who lived in the farmhouse.

It had been a rocky start, but the Greene family hadn't been unwelcoming. They'd been willing to take him in, in exchange for his willingness to work the farm while the farm still needed working. That had all been well before the crew of others — led by a man named Rick, or maybe it was Shane who was in charge even though Rick seemed to like to think he was? — had come off the main road and took refuge on the land with the shaky permission of the Greene family of which Derek had already become an honorary part.

Over a year later, they've endured more than any two people should ever have to. They've lived in the wild. They've lived in a prison. Derek and Beth took care of Little Ass Kicker when Rick was too broken to do it himself. They've watched helpless and horrified as Hershel Greene was murdered.

Beth and Derek got separated from the pack — she calls them group; he considers them pack — a long time ago and they've grown a lot closer for it. He hates knowing that she's separated from Maggie, who is her only family member left presumably alive, because he knows how it feels. Cora could be anywhere by now. She could be dead. Derek wouldn't know one way or the other.

For a long time, Derek kept what he is a secret from everyone. Beth knows now, but she's the only one in the whole world around them who does. He'd been forced into it, his choice being to fight like a human and watch Beth die, leaving him alone or fight like a werewolf and move faster, be more deadly. He'd chosen the path that kept Beth alive. Having her know what he is comes in handy when the nights get cold and the fur coat is warmer for him and her both when he changes forms. It could be worse. At least now he doesn't have to explain away why he always "has a feeling" that there are walkers nearby and they should move. It's because he can smell those fucking things a mile away.

The sun is only barely peeking over the horizon and the morning chill is still heavy in the air when Derek moves away from Beth and trots into the woods to transition out of the wolf and get dressed. They need to move. They need to find a decent shelter and so far, all they've managed to find are abandoned houses that have already been ravaged, are already claimed, or aren't fortified well enough to be a safe place. The sooner they find somewhere they can hole up for more than a night or two, the better.

"Beth," he says as he returns to their camp, picking up his bag and starting to shove the things that have spilled out of it back into it. "Come on, get up, we gotta get going."
littlefaith: (Just the way it is)

[personal profile] littlefaith 2016-11-05 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Having Derek show up had been the best thing that had happened to Beth in her entire life. She hadn't expected any good things after the world went crazy, certainly not something as good as him. He'd even managed to make her father like him and that is probably what made Beth fall in love with Derek.

Pack. Group. It all means family and Beth couldn't have gotten by without them. She can fight, but she's not a fighter. She'd thought for sure she was dead that day that she'd found out about Derek being a werewolf. It'd been scary because she hadn't had any prior history. As far as she knew, until that moment, werewolves were fictional. It had been scary, but also very clear that Derek was still Derek whether he was a wolf or a human or something in between. That was all that had mattered to her and the wolf had come in handy. When nights were cold, he could wrap around her, protecting her with his body heat and his fur coat. She'd tease him sometimes, telling him she always wanted a boyfriend and a puppy. With him, she got a two for one deal. She's glad she knows because Derek shouldn't have to carry that by himself and she wants to know him, every part of him. She feels like she does now, at least the most important parts, and she loves all of those parts whether they wear a fur coat or not.

She mumbles, shivering when Derek moves away from her, already half away by the time he returns to camp. She'd always hated waking up on cold mornings, even when she had a bed and blankets to curl up in.

"Mmmm, how offended will you be if I tell you I want the boyfriend back with the fur coat and the inability to speak," she mumbles, eyes fluttering open. She stretches and yawns, running her hands back through her hair to pull it back up, tying it into a ponytail with the hair tie she wears on her wrist and guards like it's a national treasure.

For Matt - H/C Rescue

[personal profile] thuggishlife 2016-11-12 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
He doesn't know how long he's been here. It could be hours, but it feels like days. Somewhere between the beatings and the fading in and out of consciousness, time has slipped away from him. He's forgotten what it feels like not to feel pain with every inhale, or to see out of his left eye. His hands and feet have gone numb from the tape tightly wrapped around them to hold him to the chair. His mouth tastes like copper and he's pretty sure he's got a left molar that isn't going to survive another punch to the jaw, but he's still breathing. And that can only mean one thing.

He's bait.

There's no other reason to keep him alive. No reason why they'd come after him. After all, who is Foggy Nelson? Just a low rent lawyer trying to scrape by a living. Trying to make Hell's Kitchen a little less hellish. He's no one important. But Matt. Matt's different. He always has been.

He hears the slam of a door and knows it's time for another round. Footsteps echo down the hall just beyond the black hole of the doorway and he tries for the hundredth time to free himself. To move himself. To fight back. But the goddamn duct tape keeps hold.

He grunts in frustration and pain, feeling another stab of what he's pretty sure is a broken rib at the movement. His white shirt and tie is spotted with blood and dust, but he forces himself to straighten up anyway. To face whatever is coming next the way Matt would. He hears the footsteps stop and he tries to peer into the darkness with his one good eye.

"You know," he says, his voice cracking from exhaustion. "You're wasting your time. He's not coming for me."

He can only hope it doesn't sound like the lie it is.
preemptiveforgiveness: (Daredevil)

[personal profile] preemptiveforgiveness 2016-11-13 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, it's been days. Matt didn't realize Foggy was missing until he didn't show up for work. It took a little while to find him after that.

Of course, he's bait and don't think that Matt isn't beating himself up over that. He is someone important though, which is why Matt takes the bait.

He plans carefully and takes his time, trusting that Foggy will survive until Matt can get to him. Since he knows it's a trap, he also knows that he can't charge in unprepared. In Matt's opinion, by the time he gets there, Foggy has already spent way too long in captivity.

He's going to spend just a little bit longer because have we mentioned it's a trap? It takes Matt a little while to work through the people they've got staggered throughout the building. He dodges a few bullets, suppresses the urge to kill a person once or twice (particularly when he hears Foggy's labored breathing and smells his blood), knocks an ungodly number of people out and ties up the man responsible for it all. He'll wait to place an anonymous call to the cops until he's got Foggy untied and at least half out of here.

Matt steps out of the shadows. He's been beaten fairly good, but he can take a beating with the suit on. It's nothing unusual for him. There are no cuts that need stitches or broken bones that need set. He's not sure he can say the same for Foggy.

"That's where you're wrong," Matt says. "I'll always come for you." He steps up to the chair Foggy is tied to and gets a knife out to slice the tape. "Can you walk?"

Matt is accustomed to being hurt, to being injured and to being in pain. It's been a part of his life for so long that he sometimes has difficulty remembering a time before that. He's fortunate, because most of the time when he's hurt, he's got Claire to take care of him. He doesn't often get to return the favor.

Today is different, and while he's not glad that she's got a cold, it is a chance to take care of her, a chance that he's going to embrace. Right now, he's heating a can of chicken noodle soup on the stove top in a small pot. When that starts to simmer, he stirs it, turns the heat off and pours it into one of those big mugs that are more bowl than cup. He grabs a spoon, picks the mug up and carries it into the bedroom where he's convinced Claire to rest.

"Chicken noodle soup," he tells her as he approaches the bed, despite the fact that she can probably smell it. He sits down on the bed, easing it to the crate that serves as a night stand. "Be careful," he tells her. "It's still hot."

Peter and Schuyler definitely did not run in the same circles, but he'd run into her one day at a photography exhibit at a museum. they'd gotten to talking then had coffee which had led to Chinese food then drinks at a nearby bar. He'd had to duck out earlier than he'd wanted to deal with some Spider-man stuff, but not before getting Schuyler's phone number and promising to call.

He did call the next day (he'd wanted to call as soon as he'd gotten home that night, but it'd been late and he didn't want to wake her up) and they'd made a coffee date. From that point on, there were very few days that he didn't see Schuyler. It's moving fast and that's a little scary when Peter stops to think about it. The last girl he'd had a relationship with had died (he'd gotten her killed he'd killed her). He likes Schuyler far too much to back away now.

It's late when he swings by her house (literally), changing quickly before knocking on her door.

For Dean

[personal profile] zor_el 2017-04-05 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
They say that opposites attract and, for Kara, that's always been true. She's always tended to spend her time with people that normally wouldn't mesh with her. Winn with his tech savvy that's entirely over her head; Mon-El, who had been initially so selfish and self-absorbed. Dean had the misfortune of following a paper trail to National City only to find himself in way over his head when he'd attempted to face the threat.

Dean kills to neutralize a threat. Kara does whatever she can do avoid that. Dean likes to drink and laugh and listen to loud rock music; Kara prefers a glass of wine with pizza, potstickers, and Netflixing a musical.

They'd come together to end an alien threat — Kara's way, not his; National City is her city, after all — and, weirdly, they seem to get along really well. Dean doing what Dean does means that he's seldom around and he can't come out to National City to 'hang out' very often, but fortunately, Kara can fly. At first, it's just once in a while when he's not on a job and things aren't imploding in National City that she'll zip out to wherever he happens to be and they'll order a pizza and hang for a while. He's one of the few people who knows her real name and it's nice to be able to surround herself with people like that. She has more fun that way.

And then she and Mon-El fell apart.

Everything changed for Kara when she and Mon-El broke up for good. She hadn't realized until that moment that she'd been envisioning a future for herself and now...well. Sure, she's only twenty-five, but she's not getting any younger. The idea of starting all over again to build toward something it exhausting and daunting.

She spends more nights in crappy motel rooms staring at the water-stained ceilings, elbow to elbow lying on her back beside her new best friend while his brother sleeps on the other bed several feet away. It never occurs to her that she could actually talk to him about her problems; her fears, until one night when he's probably just about dozed off and she's miscalculated the sound of his breathing to assume he's fallen asleep like his younger brother and she mutters it quietly to herself, thinking no one will hear her.

"...I'm going to die alone, aren't I...that's what this is."

Kara sighs and frowns, scrubbing her face with both hands before pushing herself to sit up. She should go and let them sleep. "No picket fence, no perfect house, no babies, just...Supergirl. Forever." Another sigh as she stands, smoothing down her skirt and shifting the cape to straighten it out so that she won't lose her balance when she takes off.

Dean hadn't actually thought that he could be friends with a girl. It's that he doesn't think Kara is beautiful, but she'd seen right through his bullshit and she'd been involved with some other guy. He'd respected her boundaries and now he's glad that he didn't screw things up by sleeping with her. She's the best friend he's ever had (besides Sammy).

The crappy motel rooms build character and Sam's snoring is like white noise to Dean at this point (he can't sleep when Sam isn't there snoring; Kara is one of the few people he's confessed this to one drunk night). They'd had another drunk talk (well, Dean was drunk) about Kara breaking up with Mon-El (he'd called him an asshat and offered to beat him within an inch of his life) and he'd told Kara that she was welcome to join him and Sammich any time she wanted (which had led to the many nights in crappy motel rooms). Oh, and he's not asleep when she says that. At first, he is frozen, not sure if he's supposed to comment or let her rant in peace, but when she gets out of bed, he sits up and reaches out, grabbing her wrist.

"You're not going to die alone, Kara. You've got me. You've got Sammich. I'll make him dress up in a onesie and babble if you want."
